    Display broken

    Display broken

I had the same issue with my 2009. I opened it up and checked for obvious faults within the circuitry but could not find anything evident. It is a possibility there is a cold solder joint somewhere on the board causing this issue as I would leave my bike cold in the morning in the parking lot at work and after it sat in the sun the display would come back. I dealt with that back-and-forth and realized the mileage was still counting so I recorded it and bought a trail tech vapor dash. I didn’t feel like digging around too long and putting any extra miles on it and change it getting off but I also needed to get it inspected. By that time anyways, it would never come back on even letting it sit in the driveway in the sun. I know you want to keep the stock dash, but I put in the TT and bought a motodash kit for it and love it! I wish I would have done it a long time ago. It’s nice to have accessories available all with ignition in one place. I hope you can figure it out. I know it’s frustrating. Supposedly you can take it in to have it fixed, but I don’t know where, and I want to say I heard it’s a little pricey. BUT, you do get to keep stock form. Erik

Extremely High Idle After Oil Change

Only thing I can think of is maybe your cables are tight and pulling somewhere after doing the grips. Might try moving the bars side to side to see if it changes. Or even removing the throttle cables from the tube and closing then and start the bike again to see if it changes.

    How many TTers in TX?

I took my son out for the first time to Shady Grove MX in Irving. Its right off of loop 12. They have 90 acres with trails, tracks and what not. The kiddie track was pretty cool, my son spent a couple hours on and around it riding an electric razor. $10 a bike with free grilled foods on weekends. Its not the prettiest, most well manicured facility, but worth the $ for me. Its only 28 minutes from my place in Arlington. I like Crooked Creek. I plan on going this coming sat so my son can hit their track and spend some time in the big clear area. If its not too crowded, its good for beginners, i feel.

    lost spark plug wrench

Deep well would work getting it unthreaded but will have to fish it out with a magnet or something. Putting the new one back would get a little trickier leaving you more chances of cross threading and then finding a reason to buy more special tools. Are you stuck at the house? Most auto parts places sell them pretty cheap. Not that this is groundbreaking advice or anything. Lol

What did you do to your DRZ400 today?

Sweet ride! I almost spit out drink on the first pic. It looked like you had some sort of turbo hanging up front of the bike! Lol

Davis was awesome! There were a few places i decided to turn around and not go back to for a bit. I will prob hit a few of those places next time, though. It was very rocky and (for me) scary in some spots. Lol I def plan on actually using my saw next time. Not sure why, but some people cut the mesquites back leaving 1" diameter harpoons sticking out. I was almost impaled my one losing my way in some muddy sections. I imagine they were cut from the seat of a sxs.
