I don't think it is required at FRO. I just got done putting a Pro Moto Billet end cap on mine for rides like Michaux and 7 Mountains dual sport where they require a spark arrestor.

I would like to join you gentlemen on Saturday. Let me know if you need/want me to bring anything. You may want to think about parking the Ancient Greek toy hauler in the new Berma road parking lot. A little easier on the tow vehicle getting in and out. Jersey Lou: Nothing will go wrong on this ride, I hope.

I'll see you at Burma around 9. We may need a submarine, but I've had enough of this nonsense already.

    Anyone 49 plus still riding?

Famous Reading Outdoors-do a google search, they have a website. They have 20,000 acres you can ride on, legally, if you buy a permit.

A KDX is a great choice for the FRO trails and is very user friendly. I have a 220 that I'm rebuilding after riding for a couple of years. It has never let me down and is a better bike than I am as a rider. As Pat says, we might be old and slow, but we have fun. I try and ride just about every weekend, weather and family obligations permitting. Rarely do I get to ride during the week, still working. I only live about 45 minutes from all of the FRO riding areas.

Street legal 2 stroke in PA?

As others mentioned, there's a difference in Pa. between registration and being street legal. Being registered allows you to get a plate. In order to be registered the MSO must state "motorcycle" and not say "off road use only." But, to be street legal in Pa you have to pass an inspection. To pass an inspection you need insurance, DOT tires, mirrors, horn, high/low beams, working brake light, turn signals, mirrors, speedometer/odometer, a chain guard, a registration card and probably some things I'm forgetting. My KDX 220 is plated, insured and inspected in Pa, but I'd never want to ride it on the road for any period of time. It has all that stuff just so I don't get hassled for riding short stretchs of road between trails, but a two stroke on the roads will draw attention.

I was out yesterday. With all the snow that the Pottsville area had (which has melted), plus the recent rains, everything was very wet and muddy. Still had a great time though. A lot of signage has been put up identifying the FRO areas, plus there is a "new" parking lot off of Burma road. Check out the FRO website for more information. You and I rode together on one really hot day in September last year with Jersey Lou and Tom.

I still have the purple beast, it's hibernating for the winter in my garage. Not sure why anyone wouldn't want to ride that fine vintage machine. The color grows on ya.
