  1. Ah thanks for that. I take it the cylinder can be rebored or replated? I'm a bit close to going home for a break now so I'm going to have leave stripping the engine until next time. I was hoping it would be a case of just replacing the piston, but I don't want to waste any money on a piston kit if the cylinder needs work. John
  2. Hi all, I'm new to the forum and just acquired a 2011 KTM 530exc. I work out in the middle east and bought this bike to use out in the desert here! I've noticed the bike is using some oil so I'm looking at changing the piston. It has about 127 hours on it and I doubt it's never been done. Anyway I notice when looking for a piston kit, there seems to be different types. Does anyone know how I can determine which one it is? Without pulling the motor apart? John
