Full rebuild on yz 85 tips/help/ miccelanious questions

My dad said that today about putting the crankshaft into ice and heating the bearing up then putting it together but ive always heard lightly tap it with a mallet and put the case on then take the mallet and tap the case until they come together which one do yall recomend
  2. So i recently came across a deal on craigslist and bought a 2004 yz 85 with a full fmf exaust, newer race rims and a hinson clutch system needing a piston and a crank bearing i purchased it, and have it torn down right now with the cases split. The wiseco rebuild kit came in today but im still waiting on a few replacment bolts for the cases. I was wondering if any of you had any tips on the rebuild in general, what to oil, what to check before i put the cases back together etc. and how to get the crank into the crank case bearing with out a press or a tool. I will post pics as i go along and i thank anybody in advance for any help/tips or tricks they can provide. Thanks

    2018 yz 125 jetting help

I have read my service manual quite a few times before i would come ask for help.. im not slow like that.. and it has regular charts and regular things to describe what main jet, pilot or needle you need but nothing too in depth.. thats why people come here to ask questions and as you said the fine tuning ive done to the air screw has no effect on the main jet but effects idle/ off idle where my problem is.. ive went through the procceses and everythings really right on the jetting for right now. When summer comes ill have to lean it out but why mess with the main jet and everything else if it has no effect on the airscrew/ pilot which like you said, is where my problem is.. ive paid very much attention to every thing above and read my manual.. neither points me in the right direction of my idling problem

    2018 yz 125 idling help

Hey guys so ive got the 2018 and its turning around winter here and ive noticed that its running pretty good not fouling plugs and stuff because i think the stock jetting is so rich on these that its basically set up for cold weather like this (60-75) degrees so i havent changed much on the carb, just the air screw setting because it was bogging at wide open throttle so i richened it up and it quit but i was wondering, i have the bike set up to idle and it idles when its warming up and when you come to a stop fine but if you give it a little.. or alot of gas it will come back down and idle really low like its about to die.. now when i usually come to a stop it has a nice steady idle but when you crack the throttle at all the idle goes down like ive described.. any help? I think im gonna mess with the pilot jet today just to see. Thanks in advance

They are not the same weight.. If they were the same weight yamaha wouldnt have even made the change.

    YZ125 advice

Dont get me wrong there theyre really good bikes considering they really havent changed a thing in since 2000 but the graphics and rims etc and if theres one for a good price go for it but if you have the option id buy a newer one

    YZ125 advice

I wouldnt say any more than about 30 pounds roughly (youll have to google it) but it means alot when it comes to weight distruption on riding and when you have to pick one up to put it on the stand or on a truck
