  1. Fan came today. The only possible location is the left side at the bottom of the radiator. At first glance, it appears 1/4" too big to fit. But if I push the radiator forward a little I can get the fan in, but resting against the gas tank. I don't really like the idea of it resting against the gas tank long term, but I may be able to trim the fan shroud enough to get some clearance. No matter what, I'll need to trim my left bike shroud where it curves in. I'm considering mounting the fan with the bottom fan shroud just slightly below the radiator fins, but I think that may reduce the air flow by creating a gap between the fan and radiator.
  2. I was able to take some pictures of my bike when I got home. Notice the lack of room between the gas tank and radiator. There is a small chance it will fit on the bottom left side radiator, but it will be tight. I went ahead and ordered the fan. I'll report back what I find out once it comes.
  3. The issue is the gas tank. On the 2007 the gas tank dips down pretty low in the front, covering the area where the fan would go. The 2012 has more open area around the radiator for the fan. 2007 radiator/gas tank clearance
  4. My bike is running hot, it was staying at 240 while riding last weekend. Mostly tight single track trails. So, I want to add a fan to the radiator. Trail tech doesn't have a fan kit for the 2007 model but they do have a universal model. It's 109mm x 109mm x 48mm. The only place it looks like it even has a chance of fitting is on the left radiator at the bottom, but even that area may be too small. Is anyone running one of these fans on your 07-11 WR? If so, can you post a picture of the install? https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p/965/56431/Trail-Tech-Universal-Fan-Kit
  5. I purchased a 2007 Yamaha WR450F last weekend. I think the forks are stock and have never been touched. When I get on the brakes real hard the front suspension compresses and I hear a squeak from the shocks. I don't hear it (or notice it) during normal riding or when just using the brakes as normal. I'm going to assume this is not normal. What's could be the issue?
  6. I bought the bike like this. The silencer seems to fit on the bike as it mounts to the frame, but the pipe on the silencer is 1/2" bigger. It's sealed up well, but just seems odd. Is this normal?
  7. Thanks guys!
  8. I plan on it. I'd just like to know if there is an OEM solution so I'm keeping it clean and not splicing into wires, if possible.
  9. Just picked up a used 2007 WR450F. It doesn't have a light switch, the lights are just always on. Is this normal? I'd like to have them off unless I need them.
  10. Agree, that doesn't look normal. But after some internet searching, I think it is. This guy has the same little cut away on his engine. http://supermotojunkie.com/showthread.php?113655-Countershaft-sprocket-is-leaking-07-WR450
  11. Hey guys, Just picked up a new-to-me 2007 WR450F today. When I bought it I saw a small amount of oil on top of the engine case under the carb and under the front sprocket. I was (and still somewhat am) fairly certain it's an output shaft seal. But then I saw what looks like a small piece of metal missing from the case on the back side of the clutch input shaft. Is this normal?
