  1. Ok I see now. Would a longer throttle cable fix that problem?
  2. I've seen a video on instagram of a ktm having a thumb throttle. I thought it would be pretty cool. I just think I could have more control over it than with a twist. I'd like to do a lectron carb and it should still be the same type of cable right?
  3. Hey ThumperTalk. Ive been wondering what it takes to mount a thumb throttle on a dirtbike. Specifically a 2009 ktm 300. I know it can be done. Ive read a lot about people doing it. My question is, if anyone has info on it or has done it, what throttle fits the best and how do you install it? I don't think it would be hard, I just want an opinion and to know if there is any problems I could run across. Thanks for any help
  4. Thanks for the reply. I called a Yamaha dealer and he said they are great bikes but they have a very hard time finding parts for them. I did some research and found out that they are exactly right. I have since found a 2009 ktm 300xc and bought that. It matches my needs perfectly. I love all the power the bike makes. It is extremely smooth and torquey right off idle. I'm very happy with it and I'm glad I passed on the 426 lol
  5. Hey ThumperTalk. I'm new to the forum and I have some questions about a 2001 yz426 I found for sale. The guy wants $1500 but said he would work with me on the price a little. I know that's a pretty good deal. What I'm wondering is how long the motor will last me. All I'll be doing is trail riding and riding around on a farm. I have an rm125 which I love. I was looking around for an 06+ yz250, but I found this deal and I've always heard good things about the 426's. He said he recently did the valves and it has been a good reliable bike for him. So would this be a good bike for me? I just don't wanna get a 4 stroke and have to dump a ton of money into it. My 2 stroke has been bullet proof. Any help would be appreciated
