  1. I appreciate all the comments and wisdom regarding the merits of body armor. There are so may choices here but I think I narrowed it down. I have not had the ability to try any on but I am leaning towards the Leatt 5.5 HD pro or the Leatt 5.5 Body Protector. It appears the only difference is the built in elbow guards and back brace. I already have a back brace and elbow guards so the HD pro seems to be the choice. Plus it would probably be cooler on a hot day. Any body want to steer me in another direction feel free. I appreciate all input.
  2. I am glad to see most support this type of gear. Now it is up to me to pick one. Thank you.
  3. At least the rear end has some padding. I am hitting 50 and I would rather sweat a little than break a rib. I fully understand you cannot protect every inch of the body but I bet my breathing would not be painful right now if I was wearing what we are here to discuss. Sweating is good for the body and discomfort builds character. I am hoping someone has experience with tis type of protection or would recommend a different brand.
  4. I am looking at some upper body protection. I now ride with helmet ,neck brace, boots, elbow and knee pads. I took a slide on my last ride into a turn and landed on some ribs causing a bruise. A standard roost protector would not of protected the ribs being that it was on the side. I came across the following two types of gear. https://www.denniskirk.com/leatt/5-5-body-protector.pfp3433595.prdf?skuId=3433595LXL https://www.denniskirk.com/fox/airframe-pro-jacket-ce.pfp3437543.prdf?skuId=3437543LXL Any input on these setups?
  5. I just received the wider comfort seat. Glad I exchanged it.
  6. I just opened an old post but has anything changed regarding trail bikes on the northern trails.
  7. I just received my Guts racing seat and cover for my 2015 CRF250x. I think I ordered the wrong one. I ordered the 1" taller medium foam and cover being I am 6'5". It appears no wider than my stock seat. Before I open it should I return it and order the wider comfort soft seat that I missed on the website or is this seat an improvement over my stock one. Please no comments as to why I am even siting down. LOL! Age is the reason.
  8. One more update. It was 35 degrees F this morning and I decided to start my bike. Choke on, hit the E button and it started right up. It purred and ran smooth. 30 seconds of choke and it idled great with no hesitation. Another testimony to the power of jetting. Thanks again for the advice.
  9. I posted this on another post but it applies here also. I decided to mess around with the jetting on my 2015 CRF250x. I installed a 142 main jet, opened the top of the air box with two 1 1/4" holes and added the 1mm spacer to the stock NLAT needle. I did not even touch the mixture screw. Holy cow, it started immediately and has way more power. As soon as it starts I can remove the choke and it runs fine. No hesitation and amazing power. I am glad I did it.

  11. You mention adding a clip spacer on the needle. If I understand correctly could it be just a 1mm thick washer or does it actually have to clip to the needle or can it float on the needle?
  12. Thanks for all the advice.
  13. I started it this morning at 40F. I twisted the throttle, hit he e start and nothing. I twisted 2 times and hit the e start and it fired and stalled. Did it again and it fired and ran like champ. It never started so easy. Thanks On the running cooler comment. I am not a racer just a casual trail rider. Would the jetting add longevity to the top end or is it something I will never notice? One more question on the main jet. I need to order something online and adding a jet to the order is like $3. Would there be any benefit by going up one or two sizes on the main or am I wasting my time? Sorry to beat this to death.
  14. I will give that a try. Thank you
