2000 RM250 Bog Issue After Full Rebuild

Figured I would give you guys the update as I got a chance to work on the bike last night. I took the subframe off and inspected the air box boot, not cracks or any suspicious. Took the carb out. Inspected the reed boot, also not cracks or anything suspicious, also inspected the reeds and they were good. I then completely disassembled the carb, blew ebething out with carb cleaner, soaked the jets and blew them out with compressed air. Put everything back together and it seems to run fine now. I believe one of the carb hoses has a clog in it. Thanks for your help guys!
  2. Hello all, I recently purchased a 2000 RM 250 as a project bike. The whole thing was in pieces and I pretty much started from scratch. Brand new top end, bottom end, crank bearings and seal, all the gaskets, everything was lubed and torqued properly. It has a fresh plug and air filter. After rebuilding, i put it through a couple of heat cycles to get everything sized up properly and then I took it for a ride. At first, it would start up fine, but die if you took it off choke. So, I took the carb out, took the whole thing apart and cleaned all of the Jets and stuff very thoroughly. Put it back together and the bike will idle off of choke, but when you Start to rev the bike up and get it into the power band, probably 1/4 throttle, the bike bogs and if you hold the gas in the same position it will bog until it dies. It will come back to life if you let the throttle go. The power valve is free and functioning properly, and the reeds seem to be in good shape. The bike has strong spark. Everything was done using a manual and I took my time doing all of it. Does anybody have any ideas? Thanks in advance for the help, and I apologize if this has been asked before. I tried to do some research, but could not find anything that I thought was similar enough.

    2010 KTM 250 SX-F Bogging Question

    Anybody have any ideas?
  4. I’ve been searching craigslist and Facebook for a dirt bike recently and I came across a 2009 KTM 250sxf with the following description: Brand new cylinder piston rings cam bearings cam chain and cam chain tensioner. Bike will not start right and when it does you have to run it with the choke runs boggy. Has to be a carb issue. Just had whole engine apart and replaced many things. I’m mechanically inclined and have worked on my fair shares of bikes, but I usually work on 2 strokes so I’m not sure about this. If anyone can shed some light on this that would be awesome. Thanks in advance!

    2013 YZ250F Rear Wheel Spacers

Is there anywhere to get just the dust seals? I got a bike without the rear wheel and I’m trying to figure out what I need.
  6. Just a quick question, and probably a stupid one at that, but what, if any, is the difference between the following things. Yamaha Part # 17D-2530S-00-00 Rear Wheel Collar Assembly and Tusk Part # 1489150005 Rear Wheel Spacers Kit It seems like the Yamaha part comes with a rubber gasket piece that goes over the spacer, but are the tusk parts a direct replacement for the Yamaha part?

    michigan Rochester, MI Dirt Bikes

Hello all, I am looking at getting a place in Rochester, MI as I will be working in Auburn Hills. I am wondering if I will have any problems starting my bikes up in Rochester. I like to work on bikes quite a bit and occasionally take on projects, so I don’t wanna move in some place that I’m not gonna be able to work with. I’m not a jackass and don’t plan to rip around the neighborhood, just need to be able to start them up and make sure everything is good before I head north for trails. For a heads up, I have a 2009 KTM 250 xcw and a 2005 Honda crf150f. Thanks in advance for any info.
  8. Hello all, i have a 1989 Kawasaki KDX200 that I wanted to get some cosmetic work done to. I want to get the front fender and both radiator shrouds wrapped white, as well as getting a full graphics kit installed. I have tried to do some research, but it's proving to be difficult to find a place that works with dirt bikes. Does anybody in the Pittsburgh area recommend somebody that they've worked with before? Also, how much should I expect this to cost? Thanks to everyone who helps in advanced!

Legal Riding near Pittsburgh without Insurance or Title

So far, all I have really found is Mines and Meadows, and Slippery Rock Dunes. I haven't had a chance to go to Slippery Rock, but I did get a chance to go to Mines and Meadows and it was a great time. All the trails are rated and vary terrain, about the only issue we found was some of the trail have very deep ruts from quads and side by sides that make it a little trickier for the bikes, but overall a great time!
  10. Hello all, I have a 1997 KTM 250 EXC that I believe needs jetted. Below is the info for my riding and the bike. Carb: Keihin PWK 38 Main Jet: 175 Pilot Jet: 45 Needle and Position: Unsure of how to check that. Air Screw: 1.5 Altitude: 700-2000ft above sea level Temperature: 60-90 degrees fahrenheit Style: Tight Single Track, All throttle ranges, but do lug quite a bit as I ride with slower riders Plug: BR8EIX (Just Replaced) Premix: Maxima Super M at 45:1 Fresh Air Filter Fresh Exhaust Packing Float Height Set According to Manual The bike has a ton of splooge coming from the exhaust, as well as having trouble idling both with and without load. It has also been fouling plugs. I did some research and found a chart for a 1999 250 EXC and it says to do a 178 Main, 45 Pilot, N85C in position 2 with the Air screw 1.25 turns out, but the 178 Main sounds like it would make it worse. Thank you in advance to anybody who helps!

    1997 KTM 250 EXC Jetting

I suppose it would also help to tell you that I am using Maxima Super M at 45:1.

This is a dumb question, but does the air screw refer to the black plastic capped screw with the spring, or the brass screw lower and to the right? Thank you in advance to anybody who helps!
  13. Hello all, I am a PA resident living in the Pittsburgh area and I am looking for somewhere to ride some good trails that are not too far from Pittsburgh and places that I do not need Liability Insurance or a Title for my bike. Nothing too technical, just a good place to have some fun and not have to be an expert to make it through. Obviously the closer the better, but I am hoping to stay within 2-2.5 hours. I also do not mind going into West Virginia or Ohio if I have to as long as it is within my distance range. Thank you for the help in advanced, and sorry if this is a repeat of a thread, but I could not find what I was looking for.

1997 KTM 250 EXC Graphics Kit

Hello all, I recently picked up a 1997 KTM 250 EXC and the graphics on it are a little scratched and faded and I am in the process of looking for new ones. However, I have not been very successful as the ones I have found are not to my taste. I am really looking to get a Red Bull or Jagermeister set if possible, and I am willing to pay up to $150 for a set that actually fits my bike. If anybody has an advice on where to search, that would be awesome. Thank you all in advance!

Dirt Bike Rim and Hub Anodizing

Does anybody know of a good shop in Michigan, preferably close to Detroit, that does anodizing for dirt bike wheels. I am sure there are a bunch, but I am hoping that someone has some first hand experience. I would also prefer to not have to take my rim and hub apart and have to relace it, rather the company do it. I guess most dirt bike shops could relace the wheel. What would I be looking at for total cost of someone anodizing the rim and hub and then someone relacing the wheel for me? Thanks for all of the help in advance!
