How to Make Your Own Plastic Skid Plate

Ohhhh maybe because youre in Australia. On Rockymountainatv.com they sell start at $80.00 for aluminum skid plates for your model, ebay has them for as low as $64.99 (ACERBIS). But this might just be USA prices. Not sure how that correlates with Australia. Sorry man....

FINALLY DONE 07 KTM 250sx BUILD

I bought them because some buddies of mine who are avid gncc racers swear by them. Theyre on average about 7 oz’s heavier than stock rims but they can take a beating. Motocross Action Magazine did a test on them too. See below. https://www.google.com/amp/s/motocrossactionmag.com/amp/mxa-team-tested-tusk-impact-wheelset/

FINALLY DONE 07 KTM 250sx BUILD

Before someone begins getting all negative and saying "you could have just bought a much newer bike with all the money you spent", just know I have wanted to do a full build on this generation bike for years. I bought the bike for real cheap from a street rider in philly for a really solid price. I wasn't to worried about possible issues because I knew id end up going through everything myself anyways. And I did....Everything from front rim to rear has been replaced and rebuilt. List of everything done below with pictures underneath. 2007 KTM 250sx converted into a 300sx Performed a complete overhaul rebuild. 300sx Kit Fresh Bottom End Kit (Hot Rods) Full Suspension Rebuild by BUMPSTIKS (Local Maryland Shop ran by a Moto Legend if you don't know the brand) FMF Turbine Core II Silencer FMF Gnarly Pipe VFORCE 4 Reed Valve System Lectron High Velocity Carburetor System Renthal Front Sprocket Supersprox Rear Sprocket RK Gold Chain O-Ring Stealthy Flywheel Weight 11oz Twin Air Dual-Layered Air Filter KTM Racing Ignition Curve Map GALFER Wave Front Brake Rotor Enduro Engineering Soft Seat Hour Meter Outlaw Racing Anodized Orange Gas Cap JFG Racing Anodized Orange Wide Foot pegs TUSK Racing Orange Radiator Hoses TUSK Racing Anodized Orange Rear Brake Cap TUSK Racing Anodized Brake Reservoir Cap TUSK Racing Anodized Orange Rear Brake Shark Fin TUSK Racing Aluminum Brake Pedal w/ Orange Tip TUSK Racing Aluminum Shift Lever w/ Orange Tip TUSK Racing 1.8 High pressure Radiator Cap TUSK Racing Anodized Orange oil Filler Plug TUSK Racing Anodized Orange Power Valve Cover TUSK Racing Anodized Orange Magnetic Oil Drain KTM Racing Hand Grips KTM Racing Tank Pad Protection KTM Racing Full Wrap Around Handguards E LINE Carbon Fiber Pipe Guard Boyesen Clutch Cover Renthal Fat Bars and Pad ACERBIS Plastics Kit Custom Number's Graphics Kit Customer Full Plastics Graphics Kit ACERBIS Offroad Skid Plate ACERBIS Front Bake Rotor Disc Guard KTM Racing Radiator Guards KTM Frame Protection Guards (NEW) BREMBO Front Brake Caliper (NEW) BREMBO Clutch Master Cylinder Assembly Dunlop Geomax MX 52 Front Tire Maxxis Maxxcross IT Rear Tire w/ Tube IRC Heavy Duty Tubes both Front/Back TUSK IMPACT Wheel/Rim Set w/ Rim Locks

How to Make Your Own Plastic Skid Plate

This is pretty cool and definitely something to be proud of. Plastic Skid plates are around $60.00 though. Not sure if the hours of labor is worth it unless youre really tight on cash and have a lot of free time. Not knocking this at all though. Definitely pretty cool and creative.

    Motor Break In?

    Thank you for your help

    Motor Break In?

Hey Guys, i own a 07 KTM 250sx with the 300 kit. Bought the bike used 2 years ago and have had a blast on it ever since. I replaced my top end 16 hours ago. However, i am having the bottom end rebuilt now and ill have the bike back tomorrow. My question to you all, do i need to “break in” the bottom end? I know all about a “break in” process after youve replaced the top end but since my top end is still pretty fresh, i did not have that replaced. Only my bottom end was replaced (Hot Rods kit). So, do i need to break in the bottom end even though my top end is broken in nicely? If so, recommendations on your methods of break in? Thanks

    Ktm 300 vs 300 TPI

Or use the $700 for literally anything else. Suspension tune would be a great place to spend that money. Personal opinion, but suspension is always the first and best place i spend my money. You can have both perfect jetting and suspension for the same price of tpi.

    Ktm 300 vs 300 TPI

I bought a lectron after running the keihin carb with the jd jet kit for a few years and ill never look back. Lectron is amazing and its only $500 as compared the the extra couple grand youd be spending for tpi. Its a win/win either way but ive been super pleased with the lectron.

Leaking oil & possible electrical burn smell

Still wouldnt explain the bike bogging down and dying while i was on the throttle in like 3rd gear i believe.

Leaking oil & possible electrical burn smell

Simply water (powerwasher) after every ride. Then wipe it down with a towel afterwards to get rid of water spots. Also dont know why the bike would continously smell stronger and stronger the long i ride. It eventually made the bike bog down and cut off when i rode it for a solid 15-20 minutes.

Leaking oil & possible electrical burn smell

Possibly. However, when i opened the powervalve up, it was clean in there. Wiped it all out (what little that was in there) and rode again and still smelled that smell.

Leaking oil & possible electrical burn smell

Anyone have any idea what the electrical-like burning smell could be? All grounds are perfect. New stator. Followed the wires to the coil and cdi....nothing.

Leaking oil & possible electrical burn smell

    Power valve was cleaned already...
  15. 07 KTM 250sx w/ 300 kit. So, i originally thought the stator was going bad. Reason being, i had my first hare scramble. 1 hour and 44 minutes long. Cleaned the bike and put it away right after. Went riding a week later for the first time and after about 15 minutes on the mx track, i started smelling something burning. Smelled electrical (not 100% sure though). I followed every wire (as few as there are) and everything was fine. Only place i hadnt followed was down into the stator which is where most the smell SEEMED to be coming from. I replaced the stator and put her back together. In the mean time, i dished out and bought a lectron carburetor as well. Been wanting one and my jetting has been constantly leaving more splooge than i like out the tail pipe. Put the bike back together and started her up. Took it for an easy 10 minute ride out back and when i was done, i was still smelling that smell. However, i still cant find it. What i did notice was some oil splooge at the bottom of the powervalve connector cover and at the front of the head, above the entrance of expansion pipe. Pics below. Any help would be great.
