  1. Hello all, There's been a lot of talk about how to register a dirt bike in states that don't allow it. I just moved to North Carolina and for the first time in my life might be able to afford a bike. I've been dreaming about an XR650R for a long time, but they're not cheap. Plated bikes seem to be more expensive too. So here's my question, has anyone tried to plate a dirt bike by adding all the necessary features and having it inspected as a custom bike? Anyone know of another way I can plate an xr650 in NC? Thanks
  2. Hey guys, looking for some help here. I'm interested in buying a 1993 KLR650 i found on craigslist. The owner says that compression is good, but that there is no spark at the spark plug. Any idea what could be wrong with it? any experience with this before? I'm not afraid of getting my hands dirty. I'm excited about having a project, but i don't want to dump a bunch of money into it. All I can think of is grounding issues, maybe a bad stator, or oil in the spark plug wells from pad valve covers. Anyway, i'm a noob when it comes to motorcycles. Any ideas how i could find out what the problem is or anything to check for when i go look at the bike? Thanks!
  3. I've seen a couple forums about converting an xr600, but i want to ask a few specific questions. First of all i'm a new rider and i'm looking at getting a 1994 xr600r and converting it to a dual sport. I will be doing quite a bit of street riding, commuting back and forth between work most days and some off road on the weekends. 1. Should i change the gearing? 2. Is there a cush drive I can put on the xr600? 3. What other advice do you have for converting an xr? exauhst? suspension? jetting? etc. thanks!
