Am I the only one who now wants to take the new X wide ratio trans and put it into the RX and see what the thing can do?

New (to me) CRF450X - What do I need to know?

Good morning Sofie Yes this is a Kenda Track Master, and this is the first time I've ever tried one. I'm really partial to the MX3S from Dunlop, but the price for this was free this time. I'll get it out and ride it a few times and hopefully have some feedback. It looks good, feels a little soft, but I'm excited to try it out. That is the aluminum sprocket, and it has been one there a while. It was on there when I got it, and it's held up over time so far. I normally just run the primary drive steel sprockets, cheap and they last me a year or so. JRM - this is one of the things that comes up continually, and I know the topic of what to look for when buying a used bike has been brought up on here before. I commented that one of the things I watch for when I buy a used bike, is to have the owner start and run the bike for you. That way, you can get a decent view on how that bike has been treated each time it has been started over the past ownership. I have purchased a few used bikes in my time (I'm only 30, but I think I'm up to 15 bikes now), and in doing so, you really learn what to look for. Two of those most important, is to see how the bike is treated, and to check the oil. I'm hoping you got a good deal on it, because it does sound like it's going to need some help sooner rather than later...

Latest update - new Kenda shoe with a bib inside. Now I just need some time off work to go play again. This weekend is a race on the race bike, but next weekend it'll back to trail riding again

She runs amazing - when I get back into the carb, I'll have to post on what worked. I went a different direction than most here, but I have been able to get it to work perfect!

Here are some close ups of the side cases. You can also see the smog block off kit has been added. Bike looks amazing!

New (to me) CRF450X - What do I need to know?

Sorry it's been so long - work and school, and kiddos have got me running in lots of different directions. I've now got some new twinwalls setup to help me choose which direction I'm headed. I've got it set up a little taller in the event that my dad and I can both team race this bike (he's 6'+). I also had the clutch cover and the stator cover powder coated. Things are moving a long slowly - I've got some damaged threads on the carb where the hot start goes, hoping to get those fixed this week...

MX - She's beautiful! Where did you pick up the stock shrouds? That bike is super pretty, I love the look!

Gas tank leaking - spinning shroud screw // need help

Husky is correct - there should be an o-ring there. To address your other issue - if you can get the brass collar out, you may be able to use either an epoxy or some sort of glue to hold it in place. Unfortunately, getting it out will be the hard part without making a bigger hole and without damaging that pristine plastic shroud. You can try pressure and an impact driver - let us know how it goes...

    !!PLEASE HELP URGENT!! 2005 crf250x

Hey Matt - just because the bowl was clean doesn't mean that the jets are clean. I'd remove the carb and do a full service on it to check each and every port and jet to make sure you're perfect and ready to go once your shims show up!
