    My new 1997 cr125!

Good eye. Ordered the rebuild kit 2 days ago. I’ve never we done one. Can I do it up to the point of it needing to be charged with nitrogen?

Got the engine mounted and the front end assembled today while the baby napped. Starting to look amazing and I’m getting excited to think I’m going to be able to ride it soon!! My good buddy who bought the 00 cr125 I rebuilt ended up buying different bars and levers and he offered them back to me for free. Umm, hell yeah!

Anybody have a stock expansion chamber for a 96 or 97 by chance? I’d really like to go back to stock on her. Pm me please if you have one. Thanks y’all.

Thanks man. I threw my back out last night so I’m at a stand still for a couple days. It’s coming along nicely though just starting to get to the good part of putting her back together too.

Got a lot done today. Engine all buttoned up. I got the swingarm on the frame and the electrical hooked back up. Gonna get and mount the motor tomorrow and then it’s off to the races.

Some new flat black on the ol foot pegs to freshen them back to life. New steering stem bearings installed with the correct triple tree. One that came on the bike was a 96 with 96 forks as well. Called the guy back because he had a big box of parts, that I’m pretty sure I saw a set of forks on, that he wanted entirely too much money for at the time. So I called and asked if I could swap them because I planned on rebuilding them anyways and the 96 were leaking too. He told me to come by and ended up giving me the box of parts, 2 pipes with dents, a 96 cr125 roller, and the 96 motor that needs a rebuild. Said he had to be out of his storage unit by the next day and just needed it gone....so I took it. Motor is on my truck but is mostly complete. I scored again.

Yeah I’ve seen people do that before. Thanks for the advice.

Sweet! I was hoping it was an oem crank. Had a thought to replace it with a Wiseco, but decided against it. Wanted to stick with all Honda internals. Thanks for the info bud!

How can you tell it’s been rebuilt? And yes I plan on re using it. Bought new OEM main bearings and I’m replacing the tranny bearings while I’m in there. All new seals and a new OEM top end kit as well. Gonna be a screamer. Thanks

Also split the cases. Good thing too. Look at them main bearings. The bike ran when I bought it but I’m glad I didn’t run it again after that. Saved myself a lot of headache and $$$.

Cool thanks bud. How do I get the bolts out though? I’ve seen videos on centering tools to center your drill bit then use an easy out. I’m not sure though...

Got the subframe painted. 5 coats and sanded in between each coat. Started on the subframe because I needed some practice haha. Turned out good though. Supposed to have a nice week so I’ll hang the frame up today and start on it. I think it looks 1000 times better then that black.
  14. The needle clip should be in the 3rd or middle position (depending on where your located elevation wise) and the float height is measured by having the arb upside down with the bowl off. It should be level with the top of the carb. Kinda hard to explain. I’d also get a service manual it’ll save you lots of time and $$.
