  1. Here’s my “ride of shame” pic after the timing chain skipped a tooth.
  2. I replaced my clutch today in my 97 XR200R and found the oil slinger was packed! On a side note are those yellow clutch springs stock? I bought an outlaw racing clutch kit and it grabs hard!
  3. I thought the cap was just to stop any flickering?

  5. The cap was made by topcon which is Chinese. I removed the cap and the light still ran fine but I will see if the rectifier is actually putting out DC current when I get home tonight
  6. I got it all installed and ran for about 20 minutes with the light on then the capacitor blew out! It was wired per the diagram so any thoughts as to what happened? Do I really need that capacitor?

  10. Are you sure that damage is from the washer? I’d run it and not worry.
  11. I have a 50amp bridge rectifier from eBay and a 50v 10,000 cap. I have the later model stator. I think I’ll be good if that’s all I need. I need to make sure the connections are water proof. I ride in mud and all weather. So I just need to round one stator wire and run the other to the rectifier?

  13. I plan on wiring my DC led headlight using a bridge rectifier to convert AC to DC using VegasRomaniacs instructions. Do I need a regulator if I’m using the rectifier? Where would the best place be to wire the switch in? Here’s his schematic:
  14. I thought I was buying bolt in 80’s forks but the ones I received were mislabeled and are the smaller early 80’s forks! Are these worth swapping in (with the appropriate clamps) or are my ‘97 forks better?
  15. I purchased an adjustable remote reservoir shock from one of the members here for my ‘97. My question is: I mounted the shock and there is a ton of play in the top bolt like a sleeve is missing. Can I just get a shock upper bearing rebuild and call it good?
