2002 KTM 400 exc rear axle part?

so I took her apart, it has the upgraded bearings and there is NO Snap ring(I did not have one that large). I was going to shorten the inner axle sleeve but it has been machine on the inside to accommodate the guide that slides in to the ends(mine are yellow metal - what a definition- lol). I just put her back together and will order the correct parts later... I hate it when things are not done properly... On another note, I did get the Ox-Brake installed. The new pads need to seat to grip the rotor properly but it is working.

2002 KTM 400 exc rear axle part?

lost my dang post trying to add a pic. short of it, no snap rings. not sure which direction to go with this. grind down the axle sleeve and install snap rings or just reinstall washer. The bearings do not look equally installed(less space on rotor side exposed) the rotor is gouged and needs replaced

2002 KTM 400 exc rear axle part?

Thanks Burnrider, I will look again at the c-clips to see if they are properly seated. I did see where some grind down the axle sleeve about 1mm to allow for the proper bearing fitment.

2002 KTM 400 exc rear axle part?

thanks, I did some research and it appears that when some people install heavy duty wheel bearings the wheel is then off set and the rotor will rub the caliper. My guess is they put this in to keep the wheel over to avoid rubbing.. thanks.
  12. hello everyone, so I was installing new pads and decided to remove rear tire to just do some.PM.. This brass looking washer fell out on the sprocket side of the axle, it is not listed in the service manual and I m trying to figure out why it was there. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks!
