  1. I don’t believe it is the fact that it’s a hard weld that the issues are occurring. Webcams has been doing this for a long time, I’d assume it is the profile. I have not found any negative reviews of the 2.0 so that’s what I’m going with.
  2. I was going to buy a ST1.5 but a couple people have had problems with the exhaust lobes on them. I’ve decided to go with the 2.0 to be safe.

    Update on Terry Miller?

I've been looking at camshaft options and I am pretty dead set on the ST2.0 unless anyone has anything good to say about the hot cams stage one. Price is very tempting. While I am sure it will not perform anywhere near a Terry Miller designed cam I would save a lot of $$$ on this option and avoid possible import charges and taxes.

Pro Com CDI Box and the crf230f

I feel like this is largely directed at me, thanks for the info, I will definitely be running the procom on my bike.

    Update on Terry Miller?

He was inactive on YouTube for a while but recently launched a new project, a magazine where he basically rides a bike into the ground and documents what goes wrong. I read it and it was actually pretty interesting and informative. I think he’s a decent rider and I can respect him for his service to his country. But I guess he’s not too involved here on TT.
  6. I would have to disagree, raising gearing ratio (down teeth in front or up in back) allows the engine to exert more torque on the wheel at any given rpm. This should allow you to loft the front tire easier.

    Update on Terry Miller?

I personally wouldn't rev it that high either, but part of his channel is testing the products he uses and probably made some $$$ off that video, probably not enough to cover a rebuild, but some. Also, his rev limiter did not kick in, I guess it's Procom's bad luck that he got one of few faulty products. I guess I'll go ahead and buy one, keep OEM as spare.

    Update on Terry Miller?

My next question is: Frickin Jim claims that the Procom CDI has no rev limit, have you experienced this, I’ve looked around TT and lots of people say they haven’t had that problem .
  9. I ran a 12/50 setup for my nearly stock 230, mainly because I was looking for better rev out in sixth and make the front tire lift a little easier, it accomplished both these things but first gear was basically useless. I could let the clutch out from a stand still in second and drive. Anytime in first it was revving too high.

    Update on Terry Miller?

My bike has a stock bore Wiseco 11:1 (actually 10:1), for this build I'm planning on bumping the compression up to 10.5 with a thin head gasket, I have performed a DIY port polish (just got rid of those casting seams, small cleanup), also adding an OKO 28mm D-slide kit from Mid-Atlantic Trials. Was also looking at lightening flywheel, that's still undecided. Maybe a Procom CDI. Do you think an ST2.0 will perform adequately for lower speed trail riding? When I talked to Terry he said low-end torque would start to drop with a 2.0 -2.5, what do you guys think? Really just looking for some all-around power maybe a Web 340/402 or 282 is the way to go.

    Update on Terry Miller?

So a couple people now have said they have had lobe problems with the ST 1.0 and 1.5. Has anyone had these problems with a 2.0 or 2.5? I would think it should be the other way around considering the high lift, but maybe they have better ramps.

    Update on Terry Miller?

Now I’m leaning away from this option, I would rather not rebuild my bike every season, maybe a catalog cam is the way to go

    Update on Terry Miller?

Do you know of anywhere I can get a manual adjuster? I live in Canada so some places don’t ship here or charge a lot to do so.

    Update on Terry Miller?

So you would recommend hardened rockers over new OEM ones?
