  1. Dang if I could afford the land to make 50 miles of trail here in Montana I would never leave my home. Very jealous.
  2. This is all just one small area of single track we ride and it has quite the variety of terrain. Also you can easily ride 9 months of the year here in Montana if you know where to go. No way anyone can change my mind that there is a better state to ride in.
  3. It’s ok they can think Montana sucks and you can only ride half the year. I am not very good at sharing the trails up here anyway.

    2 2 stroke enduros for 60$!

My offer still stands if one has a working taillight assembly I will give you $100 for it. Or if you want to part it out let me know I’m after a few items on that exact bike in your picture.

    Fork slaps when fully extended

Well it appears I had the mid valve shim stack backwards. I wish race tech would put these stacks all in one order.

    Fork slaps when fully extended

Thinking about it all week I either missed a spacer on the rebound valve or air locked the inner chamber as I did not quite have the rebound fully backed off when I put the inner chamber back together. The fork felt fine once reassembled however I did not extend it fast enough to discover the slapping at the time. I should know more today or tomorrow as I tear it back down.

    Fork slaps when fully extended

I plan to tear it down again this weekend. I know everything match up as far as float and shim stack. I’m wondering if maybe I jammed the spring on the midvalve or something there. I actually can’t wait to tear it apart because it has been bugging me all last weekend. One works perfect and the other not.
  9. Guy looking for ideas. Just rebuilt my 2007 yz250 forks. Put in compression and rebound gold valves with custom shin stacks. All went well but upon reassembly one of the forks slaps or bangs when it full extents. It hits really hard if you try to wheelie or ride through any whoops.

    Burning coolant?

Possible but I wouldn’t think so. It cleans up after idling for a bit. I just had that one puff of dark smoke that has never happened before. I believe the case oil was extra dark due to a newer clutch pack. Think I had 2 rides on the oil and pack.

    Burning coolant?

It seems to clear up. I’ll know more Saturday when I can take it out. Neighbors don’t like it when I let it run too long right now.

    Burning coolant?

Got a chance to look at the bike again. Coolant looks ok. The case oil was super dark. I run the red 80w bel ray and it was purple black looking. Going to check a couple more things but I do not think the head gasket is the issue.

    Burning coolant?

These are pics in order from my bike yesterday. After I revved it up and it came back down to idle I got a fairly dark cloud of smoke from the exhaust. After the bike ran for about 5 minutes it cleared up and the smoke was more blue. I did not get a chance to check my coolant or gaskets last night, wife and son came and interrupted my work, but was wondering what else might have caused this? I had just threw a smaller main jet in for my ride this week and fired it up and this happened. The bike did seem to run fine though. Curious of thoughts.

    Motoz Gummy

Do you ever do any riding in Glendive? Heard they have some pretty good trails there Do you ever do any riding in Glendive? Heard they have some pretty good trails there Never rode Glendive. We stick mostly around Big Timber as the trails there are seldom erode by others so you don’t have to worry about being over run by people like at pipestone.

    Motoz Gummy

I have about five rides on the non gummy version of the tire. It a good tire and seems to wear well but I don’t notice enough difference to justify the higher price of it. It does well for me on the side hills and in the trees, but up on the rocky tops of the Beartooth mountains it doesn’t do as well.
