    Kx125 head gasket issue.

I get that. That's why I checked compression. Book says change below 116psi. Cylinder looks good when looking through exhaust port. That's the only reason I'm still running it. It's not on track, it's spends most of it's time in low-mid rpm. So 100hrs isn't that bad. And I did retorque all the bolts. All seem good, but I can't guarantee who to PO did it during rebuild

    Kx125 head gasket issue.

This was what I was thinking and figure I will check the head when I rebuild. But I still feel like I should have some other signs if its a warped head or even just a blown gasket. But I guess I'll see once it's apart.

Alright I'll keep an eye on it. And I do plan to rebuild soon. Just don't have the funds quite yet, so I'm still riding.

    Kx125 head gasket issue.

I fill to the base of the neck, per the manual. And I'd say maybe like 6-7 oz after a 3-4 hour ride. I only ride trails so it's slower. I just put a recovery tank on. I'll test ride it this weekend and see how much it spits out. Hard to judge when filling. But doesn't seem to excessive. I know some is going to come out the overflow. And as far as top end life I compression tested it at 130. Still within spec and still has power, so I'm gonna run it a little longer.

    Kx125 head gasket issue.

I have 91 kx125. I've had it since last may, out about 85 hours on it so far. Had a rebuild about 15 hours before I got it. So my issue is I think the head gasket is bad, But I'm not sure. Since I've had the bike it always seems to loose coolant during rides, it has never overheated but I always check before each ride. I've checked for leaks, no luck. The tranny oil and spark plugs and look good. So it must be coming out of overflow. I replaced the cap, no change. Bike runs great so I keep riding. Through some research I saw head gasket could over pressurize the radiators and spit out fluid. I checked for bubbles and there are some when I give it throttle. So is my headgasket bad? I have no overheating or other signs. Just little bubbles in the coolant. Anything else it could be before a pull the top end? Like I said it's done this for at least the last 80 hrs and hasn't gotten better or worse. Thanks for the help

    Looking to get into enduro...

I would look at Japanese bikes to. Don't rule them out. They are alot cheaper to buy and maintain and still are great for enduro. A ktm for 4k is gonna be well used. Either way I wouldn't do a 450. It's gonna be way to heavy in tighter sections and you will get tired very quick. 2 stroke for enduro IMO. I ride a kx125, I don't mind revving it out and I love how flickable and light the bike is. I just geared it lower and it's been great.
  7. Grease all suspension points, clean, clean some more lol. Carb rebuild. Flywheel weight.

Who all rides a bike older than 2000?

1991 kx125. All original. I only do trail riding and bikes been great. Bigger rear sprocket, hand guards, skid plate. Bikes really light and I don't mind dropping it... I mean it's a 1991. I ride hard trails, no reason to spend more on a newer bike just to beat the hell out of it. My 91 keeps up fine. I do envy electric start though.

    New Trails @ Reiter Foothills

It's the trails to the east of the trails in the clear cut. One loop is marked on the updated map, but there is a bunch of old trails in that section as well. I made it down to the power lines from the clear cut section and it kept going down. It kinda follows deer Creek. I outlined the area, blue line is a trail. I didn't reach the end of it. I stopped at the power lines.

    Reiter?

Update. Was up there yesterday. It's getting snow. Not to bad. Was snowing while we were up there. There was probably an inch dusting. Some trails had nothing though

Yeah I was up there on Saturday and there wasn't snow till you got way up by the look outs, no snow on the trails, just a lot of downed trees. Im going up again this sunday, I'll post what the conditions are.

Check out by the cell tower down by the main area. Then opened some old trails over there that are pretty fun. Lots of roots and rocks

    Reiter?

I was just up the last weekend. Still no snow, only up by the look outs. Most of the trails are pretty easy but there are more difficult ones, you just need to explore. There is some good challenging ST around the cell tower that's pretty new. Just get away from the main area and it gets more challenging. I find harder areas each time I go, some stuff that feels more like Walker Valley.
