    Interesting. I exchanged the carbs, but left airboots But, previously I sealed it with high temp sealant, to be sure, and it made no difference. Also, sprayed with water, with no effect. And it seats pretty tight on both the engine and carb. Also, when I was experimenting with the spark timing, I was advancing it by 2, 4, 6 mm and engine worked harsher and harsher more I advanced, with more missed cycles, I guess. Now, when I returned to factory timing, it is much better, but a little harsh still, sometimes missing a cycle. May be I need to retard spark timing a little? ­čÖä ­čś│

    I have not rechecked. Thinking what to do next yet. Intakes were out of spec by little. Around 0.07-0.08mm (spec is 0.10-0.15mm). Exhausts were in spec.

    Swapped today my carb with friends one. My bike behaves exactly the same way with friends carb, friends bike runs well with my carb. So, the carb is not the problem, I guess. Timing? Valves? Timing chain? I noticed today that the bike runs not smoothly on higher RPM, maybe misses sometimes cycles?

    You are right. The o-ring was stuck inside. I replaced it with a new one. The problem remains

    It is night here and I was laying in bed reading info on this forum. Went to the bike to check, could not resist I have an aftermarket screw. I lost the o-ring somwhere during the cleaning ­čś« So this may be the leak? Will put an o-ring tomorrow morning and check. Hope this is it I did not submerge it, only sprayed with carb cleaner. Thank you.

    Does not kickstart. I shimmed all valves to the spec. So, valve lash will not be the issue. The bike was running ok. One day we went to mountains and somewhere in the middle weird sounds started and later the bike died. When I opened stator cover at home, magnets were shattered. So I decided to fully clean the engine and replace all damaged parts. So, the stator assembly and the flywheel were replaced, as other parts were not looking damaged. Entire engine was cleaned and rebuilt using necessary tools and the manual. Everything tightened to the spec. The question is, if everything was working before, why valves or their seats or the piston or the rings would go bad instantly? I checked the piston and rings, all are within the specs. When I kickstart, the foot stops at compression stroke and without the decomp lever will not go further like in the past, so, I guess, the cylinder holds pressure. What else can I check? I would take the bike to Yamaha center, but we do not have one here. I am in the Republic of Georgia.

    Checked hot choke, blocked it completely with no change. After many trials I found a way to make it idle at normal RPM. Pulling both chokes out. So, I guess, the carb does not give required air and fuel mix, and when I roughly give air and fuel the bike idles. What else can cause such behaviour? Or may be, the engine does not create required vacuum at low RPM and the mixture does not go to the cylinder?

    Sealed intake mainfold. The bike behaves similarly. No idle. It is strange, but it idles ok with cold choke. Or even both chokes. I run the bike 2500 RPM, Then pull the choke and slowly drop idle RPM, and it goes even lower than normal Idle RPM. As soon as I drop the choke the bike dies. Now experimenting with ignition timing. What the black dots mean? Can not find it anywhere

    It seems exactly like leak to me. In one video, when I opened the choke, it took some more petroleum and then lowered the rpm and idled normally for several seconds. Will try to seal it. Thank you.

    Nothing was loose. But wires were damaged, so I replaced whole stator assembly. Reassembled and tightened everything to the spec.

    Old stator and flywheel were damaged. Replacement flywheel and stator with windings and charging coil were ordered from eBay, they were used, but in good condition. I checked all windings with multimeter, everything is within the spec.

    Tightened the carb clamps, checked several times, no leaks found. Frame oil tank was clean. Screen too. Base screen was dirty, and was cleaned. Did not replace oil pump parts, they looked ok to me. Blew oil lines to the head. Did not replace the crankshaft. Sprocket seemed ok. All teeth on the crankshaft and cams looked ok. Did not replace the cam chain. Sliders also looked ok. Valves were hitting, obviously, I missed intake cam by 1 tooth. After I rebuilt with correct position. Removed and checked one intake valve, looked ok.

    I checked today the ignition timing with timing light. On lowest RPM bike could idle (I think 2400-2500), the timing was exactly in the center of timing range pointed in the manual. May be it will be off a little bit on 2000-2200.

    Thanks for reply. Figured out how to correctly set up valve timing. The manual states how to check the ignition timing with light, but says nothing on how to tune it. Just states if out of range replace ignition coil or CDI. Is there a way to tune the ignition timing?
