  1. In a word "Yes" No popping. Runs much cooler. Throttle is way smoother. Power delivery is much better, especially at low RPM. I'm pretty sure I haven't seen any complaints about the Vortex other than price. For me it's a total transformation and how the bike should have been in the first place. No way could I go back to the original ECU.

    Shorty levers for crf 450L

Do any of those after market 450L levers have the tab for the stop light?
  3. It can. There is mention of it in the Yoshi docs. Somebody posted a pic here with it melted all over the pipe. I checked mine and I could see the heat damage where the pipe is very close to the number plate. If you just trim a bit of plastic away where it is closest to the pipe it will be fine. EDIT: here ya go.
  4. No quiet insert for the RS4. It comes with a spark arrestor but that does nothing for noise. I just wear the earplugs all the time. I use these https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-SparkPlugs-Multicoloured-Foam-Ear-Plugs/113099894120?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&var=413924867277&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 I find they reduce the noise to a level where you can still hear the engine but the level is comfortable. I had to stop for some road works a few days ago, I was in front of the queue and the guy that was stopping the traffic came up to me and asked about my boots and I had no problems hearing him. These plugs seem to stop loud noises but you can still hear a voice up close. They are also very comfortable so you can wear them for extended periods. I'd say they lower the sound level of the RS4 down to about or below the stock exhaust.
  5. I have the Yoshi RS4. It's on the loud side. I'm pretty sure the FMF will be a little quieter and it does comes with a quiet insert. I wear ear plugs and try to keep it easy on the throttle while on the road so as not to attract unwanted attention. That said, when I pass people walking on the street they don't tend to look up from what they are doing so it can't be that bad. 🙂

Vortex ECU for the 2019 Honda CRF450L!

    Indeed, you and me both.

    CRF450L First impression....ehh

I tend to agree with you. I have the rear rack. I don't usually carry the Rotopax but do carry a Kreiga 10L pack with some gear which is a little weighty. Having the weight right out the back is not the best for bike handling. I've been thinking that I should move to saddle bags which would move the weight more toward the rider position rather than having it hanging and swaying around right out the back.

Dirt Tricks reply indicates that their website is incorrect and they will change it. So it fits neither the 450X or 450L 2019 models at least. If you look through the parts database then it appears that in general the 450R and 450X of any year use different front sprockets and could not have used the same sprocket as indicated on the Dirt Tricks website. Basically the 450R (any year) uses 23802-MEN-730 while the 450X (up to 2018) uses 23471-MEY-670 From 2019 on the 450X and 450L share 23801-MKE-A50 So I think I'll just place my order for the OEM version now so hopefully I can get it before I need one in a hurry.

How different is the 450L front sprocket? I already noted that the 450X sprocket was the same part number. But, I was just looking on the Dirt Tricks website and they list the same front sprocket for the 450R and 450X 02-current. I'm pretty sure one could be excused for thinking that if the 2019 450L and 450X share a front sprocket and dirt tricks lists their sprocket as fitting the 450X 02-current then it should also fit the 450L. Something I'm missing? https://dirttricks.com/shop/sprockets/front-sprockets/honda-front-sprocket/

    Aftermarket exhaust

You want the 450X 2019 model. https://www.yoshimura-rd.com/products/honda-crf450x-exhaust-system-224500d320?variant=20728565596263 Note: Yoshimura also now make an exhaust for the international model 450L with a bung for the O2 sensor... you don't want that one since the Vortex does not use the sensor which can be disconnected.
