Dual Sport It or Sell It

A majority of the reviews I have seen on the Trailtech are poor. I have not seen the Acewell. Do you know where I might find one? Low cost is what I am looking for.

Dual Sport It or Sell It

It has been a long time since I have been to TT (my bike has been running great and the kids take up most of my time) and I need some help. The wife informed me the other day that our finances are such that I have a choice to make. Because of gas prices and the dwindling of funds I either have to dual sport my 1995 XR6 and use it to commute or I can sell it to pay for next years gas bill. Obviously I have decided to dual sport the bike. No way am I selling it. I already know about the Baja Design kit I need (hopefully all the periferals with fit my big bars). The only unknown for me is an odometer. Utah law requires a working odometer. My bike has an odometer but it cycles back to 0 every 100 miles. There are aftermarket analog odometers, but I don't know how the existing cable attaches to the new guage. Any help would be appreciated. Please don't hesitate to include any additional information you might feel is pertinant or helpful to my situation. Thanks Son o Droopy

    1995 XR600 Suspension Problem

Returned them to the mechanic and he said he would cover any problems under his warranty. Great customer service from 4 Seasons Cycle in SLC, UT.
  7. Had my 95 XR6 in for a fork tube replacement (due to large scratch received in a crash) along with new fork seals. Now that I have been out on the bike I have heard this "clunk sound with a spring noise" coming from the top of the forks. It only happens when the suspension is compressed deep and then releases quickly. I have great confidence in the mechanic that made the repair. Any suggestions? or know what my problem might be? or if I even have a problem?

    XR650L seat same as XR600?

I have had the very little luck with the search function. Always seems like the issue is just a bit different than everyone else. Then when you ask the question some d:censored:ick replies in his best Church Lady Accent "do a search, this has been answered before". Could have saved me a lot of time by just answering the question. Nothing against Aussies though.
  10. Can someone direct me to a good Dual Sport kit for my 600. I am looking for an easy set up that will make the bike street legal (more than trail to trail), but still able to be dirt ready in a few minutes. (Dirt Ready: no blinkers, rear view mirror or other things that break.) I know that there are many posts out there on this subject, but many give partial setups or are incomplete. For reference, I live in Utah, if you are aware of any laws which may restrict things or make them easier, let me know. Thanks

    Cleaning cylinder and head

Unless you are selling the bike, won't it just get dirty again? I just do simple cleaning on my XR6 with some wd-40 and a toothbrush. If I can't get it all off, then oh well. Not trying to be sarcastic, just realistic, because I know next time it will come back dirty again.

ahhhhhh, it's almost better than sex

Where do you ride in Reno? My parents live in Sparks (Spanish Springs) and I am there all the time. Next time I'll bring my XR600 and ride a bit if you let me know.

    Considering a '96 XR 600 r

I've got a 95 XR600 and I love it. Tons of power, very reliable (takes a licking and keeps on ticking), and a lot cheap to buy than the 650.
