    TTR-125et? What does "et" mean?

Came across this bike in a classified- TTR125ET. What does "ET" stand for? Is it a typo? I haven't been able to get in touch w/ the owner.
  2. Thanks Eddie, I adjusted it from 14.5 mm to 13.5 mm earlier today. Nothing changed. Did I go the wrong way?
  3. My Suzuki 2002 DR650S dies when I brake hard to a stop. It even stalls when I'm at idle, in neutural and jumping on it to bounce the front end. I know it sounds like a float height issue. I just took it apart and raised the float level but that didn't help. I sprayed carb cleaner all over it also. The bike runs great otherwise. If I run it hard there is always enough fuel in the float bowl. It only stalls when I brake hard to a stop. (Yes, I pull in the clutch and it works fine) Also, It was running great one day (no stalling) until I realized the choke had been on the whole time. The pilot jet isn't clogged. Any thoughts on what the problem could be?

How many miles is too many for a day?

I just went 2000 miles in 5 days. It was my first real motorcycle trip. Day 1 - 400 miles Day 2 - 400 miles Day 3 - 200 miles Day 4 - 500 miles Day 5 - 500 miles It was busy but that's what I wanted. You'll probably have alot of down time. Your trip sounds like fun. You'll have no problem making your hotel reservations.

DR650 seat - Gel or Corbin?

I just went 2000 miles in 5 days on a Corbin. It was comfortable. I bought it because everyone talks highly about it for the DR. I haven't heard people brag much about the gel seat - in fact more of the opposite.

    FMF =equals= Fast Mother F'er (/w pictures)

Nice pics of grinding the header weld. I've heard of that on other bikes before but not ours. Thanks.
  7. I'm adding a 12v cigarette lighter type accessory outlet to run my GPS and charge my cell phone. It's a 2002 DR650 and I have an IMS tank so the space in front of the tank is limited. Any ideas on where to mount it and how? Thanks.

    Homemade Lexus/Phillips H.I.D. mod

It puts out alot of light. It's nice. I still want a high beam though. I might look at the Buell mod so I can have both.

Thanks 2000dr650, It took a 1/2 hour thanks to your instructions. The only thing I did different was to use 2 male flat connectors (red ones for 18 gauge wire) and crimp them instead of removing them from old light bulb and soldering. And yes, you can put it back to the way it was in 10 minutes (plug and play). An unmentioned feature is: since there is no high beam - you can use the high/low beam switch to turn the headlight off - if you're off road or in the boonies. That saves 35 watts with this setup or 55 watts with the normal setup to run other things like grip heaters etc. It's daylight so I can't report how well it works. To be continued...

DR650 - Dies in whoops and fast stops

My bike dies at abrupt stops also. It's definitely the carb - probably float level - but I haven't had a chance to check it out yet. Let me know if you figure it out.

    DR650 stuff

I just put on a rack, windshield, IMS tank, and Corbin seat. I didn't want spend much more right now so I went with the FREE spacer method. I added about 3/8" spacers in the forks and that stiffened them up quite a bit. I'm real happy with it. It took alot of the dive out of the bike. I'm going to add a little more to them to make it 1/2 inch. The dive drove me crazy but it doesn't do it anymore.

Forks and shocks are new ground for me. How did you pre-load your forks?

    Homemade Lexus/Phillips H.I.D. mod

I bought a set of 2 on ebay and am splitting it w/ a buddy. Each of us ordered Lexus ballast, bulb, and adapter for $83.00 delivered ($166 total). The price was right. I'm sure I'll like it. I've just put alot of money in this bike last month - Corbin seat, IMS tank, the big Ebay rack like yours which I like, and a spitfire windshield. It's like an addiction. I still have to beef up the suspension and get tires. After that I'm done spending for a while. I like the black plastic on your bike. Did it come like that or did you purchase it somewhere? If so, where?

Do you miss having a high beam? I just ordered exactly what you did and am having some "buyers remorse".
