  1. Darkkyn, What ever was the issue with your bike ? Did you resolve it ? Was it the timing off ? I have your same bike and I am about to tear it down and rebuild. Thanks, Robbie

    07 KTM 450 SX-F - converting to woods machine?

I was wondering if you still have your 07' 450 SX-F ? And if you do what all have you done to make it woods ready. I have the same bike. I am wanting (needing) to do the same thing. So far this is my plan. -Rekluse EXP Clutch -Suspensioin Revalve -Flywheel weight -Handguards obviously Has yours over heated ? I have boiled over a couple times, however since adding engine ice it does seem to be resisting the boil over. Thank you, Robbie
  3. I have done searches and I do not see any advice on here with assisting me with my valve adjustments for my 07' 450 SXF. I have the specs, I just do not see the procedure. The manual my bike came with tells me nothing other than the specs. I did just order a $42.00 CD Rom Manual from my local dealership. Hopefully that will help. Basically I am curious where/what the marks are to help me put my bike at T.D.C. I know how to measure and I am sure once I take the Valve cover off I will have the common sense to figure out how to measure / adjust. Atleast I hope I do, however I am sure I will need to have the bike at Top Dead Center. Thank you in Advance. Robbie

Hinson BTL Series slipper clutch for MX???

That sounds like that would be awesome. Has anyone rode the Hinson BTL out there?
  5. Hello, Everyone. I am so happy that I just go my new KTM 450 SXF yesterday. However, I cannot get it started. When I first got to the dealership. The guy hit the button (If you did not already know these are electric start with no kick start back up) and it started up. The choke was on and they had it a little warm. As they just got it set up. I was there within hours of picking it up. Well here is the deal: 1) I got home. Pulled out the choke and it started. I let in run for about 2 minutes. Pushed the choke off and it died instantly. I then pulled the choke back on again. Let it run for about 3 more minutes. It is warm now. Turned off the choke and it died instantly. Next. It will not start no matter what you do. i put it away and decided to mess with it today. 2) Not getting it to start of hours and hours. Trying everything. Battery going dead and using my charger to mess with it. I checked the idle screw to see if it was at the factory setting of 1 1/2 turns out. It was. I emptied the gas and put new gas in it. Good gas. 93 Octane. 3) Finally I get it to start, but this is how I would get it to start. I would hold the throttle 3/4 to almost wide open. Keep the button pushed while I almost go wide open throttle, then all of the sudden it will come to life with a vengence. It will stay running if I keep the throttle open between 1/4 to 1/2 or more. I basically massage it. Oh yea all this is with the choke off and it was about 50 degrees out. 4) I will eventually lose it and it will die. It will not start unless I do the same thing. Then eventually it will not start again after doing that 4 or 5 times. Any Thoughts? Thank you all in advance.

Good Stuff. I am soo looking forward to it. The tips are good. Escpecially the do not brake too much on the rear brake and use sweeping lines.

First time coming up on Saturday

Yea, that is where I am going I believe. I am going for the open track day, but figured go ahead and race.
  11. I have a bunch of friends that have been in the Motard thing for about a year. They have been trying to drag me out to do it. Well this Saturday they have wheels, tires for me and are helping me with leathers and all. Question: I am a "A" Woods rider with a motocross style of riding. I need tips. It is actually a open track day in the afternoon but a race in the evening. I would like to hold my own. Any tips will help. I will be riding my 2004 KTM 300MXC I have it set up good. It flies. I know it will not be a 450 or a 525 but I will do my best.
