  1. February 8, 2011 (Wortham, Texas) - Online Signup is now open until Tuesday, February 15th at 8:00pm for the fourth and final round of the AMA Texas Winter Series. Those that have fought through another challenging year of motocross racing in Texas over the winter, will now see their efforts pay off. Series contingency will be handed out for those attending the finale. Up for grabs is the coveted BELL Golden Helmet, the Alpinestars Vet Horizon award, the FMF/Works Connection Division champions and the FMF Class Champions. The awards don't stop there as the Texas Winter Series awards riders through seventh overall. If riders have attended two of the first three rounds thus far and compete in the last round, the riders who are not eligible will drop out of the overall standings and move up others that didn't expect to be in the points. Then there is the Spring Championship factor. The Winter Series is the last time Freestone is open before the AMA Spring Championship so track time will be crucial. 2. Wortham, Texas - With Round 2 of the Texas Winter Series tucked away in our minds, go to the "Results" page ( FreestoneMX.com ) to see how everyone is standing in the points. Many riders are already swapping 1st overalls for the points and others that either didn't make the first or second round have moved up or down in the standings. While the weather was a little touch and go all weekend for round 2, 547 entries took to the gate at Oakhill this past weekend. Thus far in the first two rounds, riders from 20 different states have saw the gates drop. This is why the series has been referred to as the "Roughest, Toughest, Largest, Richest ....... Funnest MX series in Texas." If the results are any indication, we are sure to see some battles heat up in less than two weeks at Village Creek. Then the break will come and right after the Houston Supercross, it's round 4 at Freestone for the finale/warm-up race for the Spring Championship. Go to FreestoneMX.com for results and series points.

  13. January 24, 2007 - Update: We have been receiving calls about the weather this weekend for Round 2 of the Texas Winter Series and found it necessary to communicate with you. While Texas has been getting rain all week in the South, all of the El Nino rains have been far south of Decatur, Texas and Oakhill MX Park. Oakhill has not received any rain since last Saturday. Regardless ..... with all of the factory contingency and a tight calendar, it would be difficult to postpone the series any further since we have used our two rain dates now. Online Sign Up for Round 2 is still going on so don't hesitate. Go to www.OakhillMX.com and click on "Event/Race" for pre-registration. If you would like a complete information on hotels, times and schedule of the weekend or series info, go to www.FreestoneMX.com. Also Round 3 & 4 also have online registration going. Note: If you already pre-entered for Village Creek before the rain out, you do not need to do so again.
