I got my letter today - Ouch no warning.... At least the state could "grandfather" existing bikes or require an inspection. I have some 70's vintage bikes....Are they next?
  2. Tiki, I want to thank you and your entire family for all the support and hard work to help Gary put on the poker runs. They were my favorite rides of the year after the 1st one I couldn't wait for the next. I remember Gary's kindness when he took the day off to give me and my brother a guided tour all over the Colockum. His enthusiasm and passion for our sport will be missed. Gods Blessings to you and your family Dale
  3. I bought a new 23 oz. flywheel for my 06 250SXF and it fried my stator during the 1st hour of riding. Fortunately I was at the track and not in the woods when this happened. Apparently there is was a small batch of flywheels for the 250SXF with the "super" magnets installed. If I remember correctly the "super" magnets are for systems using an upgraded lighting coil. Since the SXF has no lighting coil and runs dry, ie no oil bath, The strong magnets will melt the stator. Trail Tech is a great company and stands behind their products, it would worth the money to send them the flywheel for inspection before you get too far from the truck. PS: The Trail Tech Kick-Stand works great and is lighter than the stock KTM kick stand.
  4. Americaone Television channel showed up on my Comcast network replacing a shopping channel. I have never heard of it but they televise desert racing and the full 120 minutes of MX1 races. They are currently re-airing the 2008 season on Wednesday evenings. Comcast channel 15 in Seattle area. http://www.americaone.com/

  6. I want to thank all the people who worked hard to make that event happen. This is a great riding area and I enjoyed all the new trails this time. Interesting enough another post talks about closing Colockum for elk migration. On this ride I saw 2 huge elk strutting along less than 100 yards from the trail. They didn't seem overly concerned about the motorcycles passing buy.
  7. Link to short race overall results (unofficial) I assumed the 12:xx:yy times posted on Stumpjumpers were really really 2 hours and change. Results sorted by overall time. http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?k...mcFrNzUbXJoJZQ

  9. Can anyone explain what the times mean in the short race. In some of the senior and Sportmans class the times are like 12:07:12 AM. Are these numbers typos and should really be 2:07:12?
  10. RIDE, Yes 4 Strokes can foul plugs too. This bike is very finicky. Its not unusual to have to replace the plug and/or plug cap. Some have suggested these bikes have a weak spark. The stators run in air and not oil so they get way hot and break down slowly possibly causing a weak spark. I have spare stator, plugs and cap and have accepted that I just need to change them out when the gremlins show up. I just hate it when they show up at the start of a race:mad: KTM250SXF
  11. Marlon, Thank you , the volunteers and everyone that worked so hard to put on a fantastic event. I loved the wide high speed sections, especially the trek across the farm field; what a kick. Its nice to know I really do have more than the first 3 gears in my gearbox. I fouled a spark plug and was still changing it when the last wave of the short race took off. Debating where to just enter the long race or just ride and catch up, I decided to ride and catch up. Thanks to whoever told me to get a start punch before heading out on the course. Starting from the back of the field there was lots of passing to do and I got my share of Silt. A Filter Skin really helped with the clogging, I didn’t start to notice a difference in performance until halfway through the 4th lap. Having the signup and trophy presentation indoors is way cool. The Spaghetti was a fantastic way to top off a great event. Cant wait until the next one. KTM 250SXF #222
  12. It the first time I have seen a manufacturer quote the actual "riding weight" Hooray for Honda!

  14. There are a lot of posts out there question weather an Aprilia will make a good dirt bike. Anyone who has experienced their street bikes can tell you there performance and reliability are awesome. Remember Aprilia won the Supermoto world title with these bikes in their first year of competition. The twin cylinder bikes should also be awesome. But there is more to be excited about:. “Also under development for a 2007 launch, is a range of 250cc four stroke Enduro/MX models, using an engine which is under development based on one-half the world title winning SXV v-twin. These are deemed vital to expand off road sales in the USA, which is the key target market for Aprilia in the immediate future” Alan Cathcart Cycle News Dec 7 2005 I cant wait Here are some pictures of the SXV/RXV at the Seattle MC show. 450s will be available in February according to the rep. for $8199. The weight of 450 felt similar to the Husky SMR510. Sorry for the poor quality, I was so excited I couldn’t hold the camera still. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y19/DaZoomer/3039f731.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y19/DaZoomer/0d62a28d.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y19/DaZoomer/37cdca2a.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y19/DaZoomer/f5a33cbb.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y19/DaZoomer/a1b1df50.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y19/DaZoomer/4f3700db.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y19/DaZoomer/435f12d3.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y19/DaZoomer/2005SeattleMCshow_18.jpg
