    '08 KEIHIN carb from KTM?

Thanks for the replies. I know the in 07 or 08 crfs went to a 41mm so I figured it couldn't hurt right. Plus I have a high compression piston, race cam, and head porting so the bigger carb would most likely be a positive. Sounds like the TPS might be the biggest obstacle but I can either swap it out completely or switch the connectors. Anyway thanks for all your input!

    '08 KEIHIN carb from KTM?

Will an '08 Keihin 41mm from a 450sx work on my '02 CRF450R? I have an 02 carb for the jetting if necessary but will it bolt up and work? Throttle position sensor? It is a 41mm and my the 02 is a 40mm so do I need a new carb boot? Sorry if this is a dumb question just thought if I was going to buy a used carb I might as well try to upgrade a bit! Thanks for the help.

What LEAK jet to use w/ AP mod?

Cool. Going to the dealership at lunch today to get my 90. Can't wait to fire it up. Anybody JB weld their slide together? Mine was coming apart even with new seals so I said f#*! it and bonded them together. If it doesn't work I'll have to buy a whole new one. Does anyone have the part #'s for #90 leak jet and CRF250 diaphram?

What LEAK jet to use w/ AP mod?

Sorry just found a thread that I think answered my question. I guess a #90 leak jet is the ticket!? I'll give it a try.
  5. Been gone a long time, but good to see the forum is still going! I have an 02 with a big Web cam, ron hamps vavles and springs, ported head, 12.5:1 wiseco piston. It's been sitting for awhile so I'm cleaning the carb and fixing things I should have done long ago. I ended up bonding my slide plate instead of using the rubber seal. We'll see if it works! My jetting is: 172 main 45 pilot 55 leak 4th position on needle Hoping it will finally run right but I also wanted to wire my ap lever. Already have the diaphram with shortened rivet but should I also go with a larger leak jet? 60? 70? I heard somewhere that you can run a 90! Anyone try this? Thanks

Magura hydro w/ a Slipper Clutch?

Thanks guys, Makes sense, the slave cylinder doesn't like to be pushed, plus it might even slip out of the mount or bind up when the slipper is full engaged... I believe the stock Magura on the Husky is setup differently so it probably works fine like you say. Anyone wanna buy a new Magura w/ hotstart lever for a CRF450?
  7. I have a brand new Magura Jack sitting in the box. I was going to through it on my CRF450R but then remembered hearing somewhere that it won't work with a STM slipper clutch. Can't seem to find any info on it though. Has anyone tried this combo with success. Thanks guys -Mike
  8. Awesome. Thanks, you guys rock. I didn't know 3M had contact paper. I was dreading the thought of using spray or liquid adhesive. I think the paper will work. I'm still going to scan them before hand just in case it doesn't go as planned. Plus I'll have templates for making my own custom graphics in the future.
  9. Has anyone successfully reapplied graphics to a fresh set of plastics? If so how do you do it? Do you need to apply some kind of adhesive? I have removed old graphics before and there is still quite a bit of tackiness to the adhesive. Maybe I can just clean the adhesive side while cold then try reapplying with some heat. What do yall think? I know this sounds dumb but I found a set full set of plastics w/ a graphics kit that is no longer made (McGrath supermoto replica). The guy put the kit on red plastics which looks bad and should have been put on white plastics. So I need to remove the shroud and rear fender graphics and reapply them to my white plastics. This may be a big headache. In any case, I will scan the graphics after I remove them so at least I can reproduce exact copies and have new pieces made.

    Tail Light for SMR

The ones out there for sale are pretty ugly and big, IMHO, and I like to keep my bike looking like a race bike/mx bike as much as possible... I got done making my own tail/turn signal for the "second time." You can check out the first attempt in my garage. My new setup is more minimal which looks alot cleaner and is more visible to motorists. I'll take a couple pics tonight and post them on this thread as well as update the pics in my garage...

    X subframe on an R

Has anyone put an X subframe on an R? I have an 02 450R and want the airbox/battery compartment from the X. I know the generation from the year difference is probably a factor...When did the first 450X come out? 04 or 05? Thanks guys!

  15. I have an 02 that's street legal. I put a Vapor w/ temp and if you sit for more than say 5 min. it will get up to 190-200. When I get going the temp drops to 140-150 sometimes lower when doing 60 mph and up. It has stock radiators but I'm putting some fluidynes on it. The fan is a good idea, make sure you have a good battery and your charging system can handle it. I wouldn't go more than 50-60 miles on oil. It ain't the best choice for a commuter bike but it is fun. I would also be a little worried about the backfiring. Normally they'll pop alittle when downshifting but if it's backfiring when warmed up then it might be valve related/timing, you never know.
