  1. Sierra National Forest, near Bass Lake, California (South of Yosemite) Looks like Oct 23/24 out of the Oakhurst Elks Lodge so we can use trails North of Hwy 41. This will be a SOTSNF fundraiser and BBQ. Oh, and the optional dual sport ride is free. There will be camping available at the Elks Lodge and we'll be able to use their hall for the BBQ Sat. night. More details soon when we everything nailed down and the flyer created but just wanted to give a heads up so you can save the date. Lot's of Bass Lake 250 trails and some new terrain also! Last chance ride to hit great trails that will be closed in 2011 thanks the Sierra National Forest Plan. Your donation will help fight the closures.
  2. I had a friend put his little mc battery in the tool kit to pass inspection. Easy

    BRP replacement seat

Send it to Saddlemen, they refoam it, add gel (the magic touch!) and even put a new cover on it. www.saddlemen.com I did this and rode the Continental Divide Ride and was one of the few that didn't have a sore butt.

Building up my '04 S a little bit

Get a good skidplate, saves expensive case damage. Gear down 1 tooth on countershaft.

A friend of mine is considering buying a used XR400 with a 430 kit. I'm a little concerned about the reliability of the 430. I seem to remember something about these awhile back. Any feedback? It's a street licensed bike which is good for Calif.
  6. Hi Everyone (from snowy Bass Lake) The Orange County Dualies are at it again. After much discussion (and approval from Bruce Brown, and Malcolm Smith) we have decided to once again host a On Any Sunday Reunion. Date is Wed. May 21 at the Big 6 Theater in Fashion Island/Newport Beach, California (Same place as last time). And again all proceeds go the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation (we've been supporting them for 15 years now). Pretty much the same format as last time with a great moto-expo kicking things off in the parking lot followed by a autograph session with all the attending stars. Already RSVP'd Bruce Brown, Dana Brown, Malcolm Smith, Jim Rice, David Aldana, Jim Odom, Don Shoemaker (film Editor), Allan Seymour (producer), Keith Mashburn, Carol Kaye (music), Walt Fulton, Don Castro, Skip Van Leeuwen, Chuck Palmgren, as well as Bruce Ogilvie (Baja 1000 winner/Team Honda), Broc Glover (National MX Champ) and others each day. It's going to be awesome and we hope to raise some serious money to combat brain cancer in kids. Our basic website is up and running with online and mail-in entry to come shortly. Go to www.onanysundayreunion.com or www.dualies.com. Tickets will be $50 each with special event t-shirts and posters available. Hope to see you there. 7. The Orange County Dualies are at it again. Remember the On Any Sunday Reunion last year? It was awesome and over 1100 enthusiasts showed up to view OAS on a 80' screen and meet the movies "stars"; Malcolm Smith, Mert Lawwill, etc al. Well on August 16th the Dualies are hosting a viewing of the 1980 Peter Starr movie "Take it to the Limit" that starred Roger DeCoster, Kenny Roberts, Mike Hailwood, Barry Sheene, Marty Smith, Russ Collins, Scott Autrey, Mike Bast, Steve Baker, Debbie Evans, A.C. Bakken and a host of other racing champions. My favorite was Drag Racer Russ Collins (who hired Vance and Hines) and his twin engine drag bike the "Sorcerer", the clip of Russ trying to control the bike is unbelievable! The showing will be held at the same theater as OAS, Big 6 at Fashion Island in Newport Beach, Ca. There will also be a bike show and autograph sessions from 5-7pm with the movie at 8pm. Many of the stars will be on hand. All proceeds benefit the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and the Prostate90 Foundation. For a flyer click on http://www.dualies.com/TakeittotheLimitCharityBenefit.pdf, to buy tickets online click on http://www.dualies.com/html/dualie_catalog.html. Join your fellow motorcycle enthusiasts for a great night for two great causes. Don't miss it! Larry Langley/Founder, OC Dualies MC
