  1. As your handle bar and bark busters took the hit, make sure the bark buster is not touching the clutch lever. A friend fitted a set of bark busters to his 525 EXC and put the slightest pressure on the clutch lever, which was enough to cause the clutch to slip. Unfortunately it took him two sets of clutch plates and a slave cylinder strip before he realised what was happening. HTH
  2. Edit: I've just found the paper work that came with the silencer. In the maintenance section it states, "Replace the rock wool in the main silencer every 15 hours (competitive racing) or every 30 hours (hobby pilots)." Spare parts: Rock Wool Kit SXS04250505 Repair Kit SXS04250507 (rock wool kit and outer case) End Cap SXS04250504 Insert for endcap 98DB SXS04250503 Insert for endcap 94DB SXS04250508 Front fastening clamp SXS02540503 Rear fastening clamp SXS04540504 M6x40 HH collar screw 0015060403 M6x20 HH collar screw 0015060203 DINO125 A 6.5 washer 0125060003 Tension Spring 57305016100 Akrapovic Offroad sticker SXS02540509
  3. Oops, I lied. The part No. for the Akra silencer insert isn't in the Powerparts catalogue. Quote this to your KTM dealer, SXS04250508, it's on the label of the bag the insert came in. IIRC the same number is used for both the 94 and 98DB insert, so make sure the dealer orders the correct one. HTH.
  4. I have the slip on Akrapovic endcan on my 04 525. The can comes with a list of all the parts that make up can along with their part numbers. If you click on the link below it will take you to a thread in a UK Supermoto forum where I have put up a couple of pictures of the insert. I'm at work at the moment so I can't quote you the part number, but if you talk to your KTM shop tell them the insert is listed in the Power Parts catalogue. I'll dig out the parts list and post up the part number when I get home. HTH http://www.visordown.com/forums/showthread.php?t=213519&highlight=insert
  5. Hello, this is my first post on TT and seeing your thread has finally got my lazy fingers moving for long enough to get myself registered. North Yorkshire has arguably some of the best off road trails in England, it's more sparsely populated than southern England where I live. There is a really good KTM dealer network in the UK and Eurotek in Ripon have a good reputation and are not too far from Harrogate. http://www.eurotekktm.com/. I am a member of a UK Supermoto forum and there are allot of members from the Harrogate / North Yorks area. I often trailer my 04 525 EXC the 250 miles from London to go riding with them, as the roads across the Yorkshire Dales are fantastic and much better than anything we have in the south. They are also into their offroad riding as well, so the forum could be a good way of hooking up with some local riders. http://www.visordown.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=22 Welcome to the UK, I hope you have a nice stay.
