  1. Hi ! According to UK press , that's a limited edition Japanese market ( 300 units ) run only.... bet they surface elsewhere though... Rob.
  2. The stock 208's lasted o.k. for run-in / street-fun /commute 1200 miles , but turning the wick-up on a trackday , cool-October day , even at lower than normal pressures , they were toast after two x 20 min. sessions , including a couple of sighting ( enforced ! ) laps 'cos is was damp early , so I'm gonna be changing , maybe try the Sportmax Mutant , or Goldspeeds , if they got the 150 rear available , keep you posted : as soon as the dust clears , the 208 will be wasted on a dyno roller , and I'll have some proper power FCR 39 just fitted , had a brief ride , felt good , but dyno set-up booked ... that'll be posted , soon - as Rob
  3. BTW : UK trackdays , anything HOTTRAX is good with me ,excellent organisation , usually pro photographers (www. fresh-orange.co.uk if you wanna see examples) good circuits , and SM tolerant - some aren't keep an eye on the press for dates , Rockingham - nr. Corby Northants is absolutely THE DRZ hunting territory Rob.
  4. Tim , you just looking in the wrong places , help is at hand here in Cambridgeshire , only around a 100 mile ride salty roads too , maybe you should wait until spring , they dissolve in the stuff sent you PM , Rob
  5. Hi all , skidplate !! , it's a U.K. accessory , can be viewed - I hope , on suzuki.co.uk webby , these were offered as part of a kit , consisting of swingarm and fork decals , nasty cheap handguards -Polisport I think, I'm using them tho' 'till I change to Fatbars ! ...an aluminium exhaust shield (uk type muffler ) the chain guard and this , hope the image works : ....best part of the kit, these got offered for GB £139.95 - to try to stir-up the dead U.K. sales , never worked though , now it's a free rear carrier and 0% finance deals , resale values here have hit the deck ! So I'm keeping mine and heading for BIG power territory, though it's hard to get any parts , myself and a few pals on motos' slaughtered the sportsbikers on a recent trackday at Rockingham Raceway on the 21st.October this year, checkout www.fresh-orange.co.uk ,select the date/circuit ,intermediate , and view the results ! it was fun just to see the looks on them , sneering at our lowly powered rides in the morning ... and then embarrasment after the first sessions ... priceless !!! Rob.
  6. UK trackday moto stuffin' the sportsbikers again !!
  7. Hi ! I'd try harder for discount if I were you ! K7 not listed yet for UK , but when it is , you can be sure the price will tumble for the K6 !! K5/6 essentially the same, apart from detail changes,Suzuki (GB) website doesn't mention the K7 model yet , and UK dealers left with loads of unsold stock , it just didn't work here in the UK , and the resale values are poo.. Reason simple , just not enough power as stock ... save some money and get an FCR carb. / pipe / cams / bore-kit , and turn it into the bike it should have been to satisfy us power hungry Brits !! ps. I just bought the remains of a 2004 CCM 404 D/S supermoto wreck ,with the Australian spec.E- motor -high output generator and neutral light switch,3000 miles , just to get the FCR carb. couldn't stand the wait any longer all but the carb. on ebay soon , or contact me , blatant ad for UK , sorry ! Regards, Rob.

  9. Hi ! The Streetsport is only available here in the UK in one compound - streetsport - just the slicks/inters/wets have options , tests here have shown them to be top VFM ,grippy and stable , reckon they'd suit your use-pattern fine , I'm just about to get some for tarmac only , after checking here that the rear 160-Section would fit in my '05 SM !! keep searching , all the info. you need is here .. Rob.
  10. now we are being offered TT case savers for a bargain price from some UK eBay tea-leaf ! .. just £47.50 inc. post mine $44.99 ..... delivered to UK , quick too.. just got DirtBerk Store CD catalogue through , saw ad' in TBM , they thoughtfully have an easy currency converter .... simply deduct 20% from P@rtsUnlimited ( big in US ?? ) $ price ....... and it'll be delivered in 2-3 weeks ......what ? That's big-bucks for handling don't ya think ? time to find reliable UK source for US goodies ! Rob.
  11. Don't you feel , that we get a duff service in the UK Neil ? ... I tried to order from TT shop , but gave-up ,after many attempts to complete transaction ,maybe it's just me ! impatient shopper ! ... got a workmate with PayPal to order my TT case guards from thumpertalk on eBay .. arrived in a week , and superb !! Some Chancer was offering something less for twice the cost in UK !! Now need Baja Designs LED tail ,because it's de-rigeur for a modded SM ! Need BIG Power too , Have a lead on an O.E. FCR complete setup : carb, cables, inlet manifold, airbox boot, fuel tap (petcock) etc. and cams from a UK 2000 E-e.start model , option on a cylinder with a light score ( to use as bore-kit donor ) from a low miles ACCT victim .. just weighing-up cost .. versus Sudco/CPW set-up + hot-cams etc.. whaddya think ? $550 ........sound good ? Rob.
  12. Hi ! I geared down too , 39T rear Renthal (stock 15T front ) on my UK '05 SM , not tried yet - weather not so good here ..... I fitted the Advanced Perf. extended axle blocks too , only after modification though ! the bore size of the blocks was off ( +2mm diff. o/d) I tried mailing the seller/manufacturer , but got a load of B/S about the model I had ,even after sending details ,photo's and dimensions ...... I got some bushes made at work to fix it , but the stock chain , never adjusted yet , at 800 miles . is still on the last ref. mark on the extended blocks , needs a couple of links off the factory 110 length , I'm waiting until I've tried it though, the problem with the blocks means I won't be to upset to switch it back .. mine's only a lightly modded SM-K5 , but on open tarmac it's screaming , and I'd hate to hurt it !! Rob.
  13. I've been drooling over those graphs all morning at work ! I must have some of that , comparing my lightly modded '05 SM - just an FMF 'Q', P-Bomb header, and airbox/jetting mod's , 37.4 rwhp /28.8 ft/lbs torque was a good start, but : have a winter plan , the options aren't as easy for us in the U.K. parts are soooo expensive , and we don't have a "BURNED" either, but I got a great guy for the dyno work , and may have just stumbled upon a DRZ-E that the owner is breaking for parts : what parts are needed for the complete FCR carb swap , I did search the forums , so correct me please if I'm wrong : Carb/inlet stub/airbox boot/clips etc, do I need to swap cables ? anything else likely to help my quest for horses ? CDI - Would it need to be an e-start,or would either fit ? The motor is blown , think cams already sold ! Not sure what the year of manufacture is yet - will check... Also ! Acerbis supermoto front fender : is the correct color match for the '05 SM the 'yellow' or the '01 yellow' from the catalog ? it's hard to tell the difference without seeing the actual item , anyone got a part No. for a rear caliper guard ( just the white plastic item ) to fit , the lugs are present but tightass Suzuki don't fit one , and only have a Honda MX dealer locally , none ot the Honda-Nissin items were right, Thanks , Rob. Doh ! think I just got required parts list , hadn't refreshed for a while , sorry !!!
  14. Hi all , I was considering the E-Line engine covers too , been some on UK eBay from the company mentioned, the photo's weren't as flattering as those posted here, perhaps the guy could use them for his ad' !! just one Q' though , how does the clutch cover fit ? do you have to remove all of the cover bolts ?? or just a couple , only just changed oil ! and there's a washer under the one at 3 'o clock, oil seal I'm guessing ? ...I've spent HUGE dollar before on carbon fibre parts , only to be left dissappointed ( Ducati ownership in late nineties- ended in tears ! ) rather be sure, .... and just to help other UK TT'ers , just took delivery of some of those extended axle blocks for the DR-Z SMK5 found on US site and the FIRST item I ever ordered directly from US , SUCCESS , fantastic quality , 10 day delvery for a couple of quid , and a bargain .. give it a try , Rob.
  15. U.K. too ! if it's any help , my '05 SM is running an FMF Q pipe and powerbomb header , no carb kit at all , just snorkel out of box , and a 1.5" meshed hole in the airbox door + 1.5 on the needle ( with one of those clever half-clip shims) set up by BSD who are well known , more for superbikes here in the U.K. did a great job on mine with that set-up , 37.38 rwhp/28.8ft-lbs , on stock settings but with the pipe gave 34.81/25.6 : .. VERY good value too, worth giving Mark a call , it rides great , mid-range gain (+5rwhp 6-7000 rpm) really wakes it up ... just wanting more now though ! Gonna go Hotcams inlet ( £125 on fleabay) and "E" basegasket , mixed with BSD magic next I think.. Don't know about you , but find it a little undergeared too , just going down to 39T, let you know when I get to it.. and the fog clears .. Rob.
