  1. I have a hitch mounted single rail motorcycle carrier for my YZ250F dirt bike. It looks like this one: http://i2.ebayimg.com/05/i/06/d2/e6/a5_1.JPG I have a 2004 Olds Bravada (exactly the same as a GMC Envoy). The license plate is mounted in the tailgate so when I put the bike in the rack, it obscures the license plate. I never gave this a thought until I got a $60.00 ticket for unclear plates. Does anyone know of a solution? Can I get a duplicate tag for the rack or Can I remount the plate on the rack when I am carrying the bike etc.... Has anyone ever had this problem? Thanks in advance Ed
  2. I'm talking about a factory OEM kickstarter off of a 2006 Yamaha YZ250F Not a replacement BBR kickstarter. Anyone?
  3. Thanks for the replay and keep me posted. Personally I would like to see the base stay since my son and I have enjoyed the annual air shows.
  4. I have a 2002 YZ250F and I want to replace the kickstarter. Does anyone know if the 2006 kickstarter will be a direct bolt on replacement?
  5. I would like some advice on an idea that I have. My intention is not to fund but to gain enough backers and present them to the appropriate people. If you live near Horsham, you are aware that Willow Naval Air Station is scheduled to close. This area desparately needs a riding area for all ages. There is enough ground to build a large muli-track motorsports facility. There is a rumor of making this into a private airport but some are opposed to the noise. A motorsport facility would be much quieter. The area and economy could benefit from a world class supercross style outdoor track that could possibly be put on the circuit. I figure that if the right people (i.e. pioneers of the sport, big industry names etc....) were approached that the funding would be possible and then the appropriate channels could be followed to explore such an idea. Does anyone know who would need to be contacted about the ground? The Township, the government? etc.... Any ideas are welcome. Ed
  6. I tried doing that but the boots are still about 1-2" above the brace and will not close. Is there a different style boot that would be shorter. Has anyone ever had this problem?
  7. Hey guys, I need info badly. I have Alpinestars M6 Boots that I have been wearing for over a year (and still trying to get used to....). However, this year I bought a pair of Asterisk Cell Knee braces in size XL and the boots are about 2 inches too tall. Are there shorter boots or styles available that would fit better? I have tried everything with the braces including raising them up but the boots still are too tall. Are all boots of equal height or are there shorter ones? Thanks Ed
  8. Maybe you have YZ braces? Fitment will depend highly upon the shape of your radiators. if they are a little tweaked, some adjustment will be necessary either to the braces or the radiators. Before I put my radiators on, I put them in a vise and made sure they were perfectly straight in all directions. I hope this helps.
  9. The other day I receievd my Unabiker radiator guards and today I put them on the bike. I was debating between these and the flatland guards. I had the devol radiator guards and returned them to get the Unabiker guards and I am very glad I did. They are very sturdy and form a rigid framing around the radiators (bolting directly to the frame) without being too bulky or bulging the radiator shrouds. Probably the best money I have ever spent from what I can see. One tip to Unabiker: The CNC logos on the side are a nice touch but not necessary in my opinion. You could save on cost and production time with a simple set of die cut decals. The logo gets covered up by the shrouds anyway. Great product guys! Thank you to Unabiker and the Thumpertalk store for the quick delivery. Ed
  10. I'd be glad to donate and ride. What kind of riding is it? I checked it in Google Earth and it looks like a big place.
  11. Here's my 2002 YZ250F just totally re-done over the winter. There's a before pic in my garage. http://www.thumpertalk.com/forum/garage.php?do=viewattachment&attachmentid=13098 Color-matched frame/subframe and swingarm. 12. Ok I agree that Speed channel sucks but that is what we are stuck with. I bought a digital video recorder so I could program the supercross and supercross lites airings in addition to the arenacross series etc. I wanted to have the time to work on my bike or ride etc. instead of fitting my schedule around Speed channel. I also agree that Nascar brings in millions compared to motocross but what bites my ass is the fact that there have been probably 2-4 schedule changes for their programs and I ended up recording "Two Guys Garage" or "Street Tuners....etc" This afternoon I had everything set to record SanDiego on CBS and since we got 17" of snow, I have over 1 hour of news coverage because they changed the programming to another channel. I finally sit down at 8pm to watch the Supercross Lites and half way through the bastards break into Nascar. Speed Channel seems to have a group of retarded orangutans scheduling their programs. Money or not, they need to stick with what they intend to offer people. They are providing a service that's no different than Speed's CEO getting work done on his house. If his Merceded was wrecked and then re-painted halfway through with spray cans because the body man made more money he'd be pissed....no doubt. We should not accept programming like this. They need to be flooded with emails.

  14. After thoroughly cleaning the carb, I changed the leak jet to a #35, played around with the zip Ty fuel screw and dropped the needle two clip positions. Once you learn (and I'm still learning) how to dial in the carb, you will notice a whole different bike. When I bought this bike there wasn't a thing wrong with it but it had a lot of bog and was very torquey (sp) the previous owner said that was how 4 strokes were supposed to be. After doing a lot of reading about jetting and tuning I went to work on the carb and if that guy rode this bike now, he'd want it back.
  15. I bought the hotcams off ebay and yes they are that easy to install. Once you break them in, you will have to check the valves again so you'll actually be doing this twice but they made a huge difference on the bottom end.
