    Torn between two bikes!!!!

If it's any consolation, I was in the same boat and agonised over the decision for a long time. You eventually start nit-picking between the two. Both are good bikes.I have ridden Honda for 2 years and eventually got the 06 Honda250F.Am very happy with it. I rode both bikes must say that the Kawa is a great bike and has a good engine. It feels slightly taller and I felt it didn't have the overall build quality of the Honda. In the end console yourself in the fact that you can't go wrong whatever decision you make. Good luck

    06 250F hour meter

Does anyone know of the complications surrounding the fitting of the hour meter to an '06 250F. Apparently the bike has the coil built into the spark plug and does not have space for the meter to connect to. Don't take my word on this, but this is what the Honda dealer told me???
  4. Thanks for the responses.I am still in doubt about the riding feel between the two bikes and am not sure how finnicky I am being. I don't get alot of chances to ride other bikes so it is hard to make a decision on buying a new bike. It doesn't sound like I can go wrong with the new Kawa. Am getting a chance to ride both today and then will make a decision on which to get. It all comes down to riding comfort and which one I feel I can go faster on.

    CRF250 VS KXF riding feel

Thanks for the reply. I usually try lean a bit forward.I think I need a taller set of bars as I crouch alot and it's not a totally comfortable position. But most of the time I end up hanging on with my arms; as you know what its like when you're accelerating out of a choppy piece of ground and the bikes all over the place...you have to stand and holding on with your arms tires you out quite a bit. Have sold my bike, and am now just stuck with the decision to make. Going for a ride on both bikes today so will see how it goes.
  6. Thanks. The Kawa has alot narrower feeling over last year but was specifically kept a little wider to maintain the good knee grip. It's not an exact copy and has been said to have a taller, big bike feel (http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/Article_Page.aspx?ArticleID=2483). Sat next to the Honda 450 it is ever wider and looks larger. Doesn't sound like I can go wrong with the Kawa.Just don't want to jump brands unecessarily. Maybe I just have a different feel for the bike than others do.I notice that I always get bad arm pump as I hang on too hard with my hands and little with my legs and knees. Just getting others views on the subject.
  7. Hi, does anyone thoughts on the riding feel between the 06's Kawa250F and Honda250F.I have had a 04 Honda250f for the last 2 years and am re-newing now,but have always felt the bike was too narrow and could never grip it properly when accelerating - bike was getting away from underneath me (am 6.0ft and 180lbs) I know everyone says grip the bike with your knees but there is very little to grab there,as it's so narrow. Must admit to feeling a little better on the Kawa as they're a wider feel but love the Honda fit and finish. The only thing against the Honda are the valve issues and narrow fit.Kawa got a good review but feels alot bigger (is this something I will adjust to or what?), and also haven't heard of any valve probs. All I am waiting for is to make a decision and then go and buy my bike.Have been pounding this out for a while now.Still no decision. Any suggestions???

Best pipe for 2005 CRF250R... (POLL)

I own an '04 CRF with an WBros Alumium pro and can definitely say it stands up to the falls. We run an anti-clockwise track and I tend to do more right side falls (hence not purchasing the Carbon Pro).Power is better than stock but is still very flat off the bottom. Mid is good and revs out nicely on top. If it could do more bottom end then I would say it would be perfect. However if you try this pipe and then run a Boyeson Carb cover (this is said to sort out bottom end bogging) then I think you would have a perfect fix. Any thoughts?

    CRF 250 R vs RM-Z 250

According to the TWMX KTM250SXF pushes 37.1HP stock and can get up to 41.9HP with an FMF pipe.I own a '04 CRF250 with a WBros pipe(not great power) If a '06 CRF can do similar numbers to the KTM then there will never be any question as to which bike to get; as the Honda is the best bike available bar the power. Anyone know the '06 specs?Or what it can push with a few simple mods. PS:I don't like the feeling or weight of a 450 and am not scared of the power or anything like that. I just like the 250F handling better.

New crf 450 or new ktm 250 sxf

Correct me if I am wrong but is that not way ahead of what the Japanese bikes are pushing out?I read an article about Tedesco's Pro Circuit Kawasaki just topping 40 horse flat.Surely the Jap bikes cannot be so far behind.I like my Honda and want to stay but am not so sure about moving to a 450f

New crf 450 or new ktm 250 sxf

Anyone know the HP output of the '05 or even '06 CRF250.I've read that the KTM pushes 37.1Hp stock in the TWMX (41HP with an FMF). That should be enough to compete with a 450 (for my skill level that is - social motocrosser)Don't want to leave my trusty Honda although all the Honda riders have been having major problems with their valves. So am not so sure on Honda reliability.

New crf 450 or new ktm 250 sxf

Hi,am pretty much considering the same selection.I ride a Honda250F and am considering jumping to a CRF450 but don't like the weight.I rode a KTM250SXF and loved the power and handling of the bike.If the CRF250 could push out power close to the KTm I would take it without a doubt.
