    what will fit me?

HI, I just sold my 92 DR350 i liked it very much just sold to avoid aging problems . I am 1.75 meter high, just 75 kilograms, not very fit, skiled enough to tamer any monster ( riding since 1982) . Would like some dual purpose machine ( plated) that is wild enough to follow my two kids into the hills ( rm 250 and blaster 200) hard rocks terrain, sand, cracks, etc... ( very hard to say so) just to keep them out of trouble:smirk: and to make some higway trips if the opportunity arises. I also ride a 1962 bmw R50 just for fun. Any advice? jose Antofagasta Chile

    should i buy a dr650?

hi! I just sold my dr 350 n ( dirt) bike because it was in perfect condition ( yes perfect, no one noticeable problem) but getting old ( it was 93) so I sold it before it became "un- sold eable" like it happen to a '89 xl 250 that is getting rotten in my back yard. I have the opportunity to buy a 2009 dr650 almost new ( just 2200 kilometers on it and not a single scratch !) My question is is it good enough and not to much to be used on trails , average to high difficulty. I am not a small guy but not very big indeed ( just 1.75 meters and around 80 kilograms) nor very strong ( office man you know!) I also want to be able to take travels on highway. so what , seasoned dr650 riders can tell me? regards antofagastaride

  4. Hi: since we bought it about 3-4 months back mi son´s rm250 (2004) bike is having carburation problems. After many hours reading the forums I have the idea that it is runnig rich on idle, because it fouls plugs after a few minutes of idleing and/or soft riding. The carb is stock, we are on sea level. After many attemps of setting it "by the book" we took out the carb, dismantled it and found something strange on the air mixture screw: when screwed to the end It wont go completely inside the body of the carb , there still about 3-4 threads outside. Looking from the back ( air filter side ) of the carb one can see the air passage hole ( one ofaboot 8 mm diam.) and the needle won't seat nor touch the small seat on the opposite side of the passage ( there are still 2 -3 mm ). Another symptom is that the screw will go only 4 turns from completely loose to tight . Is that ok? or are there somethig wrong with the threads? I have had many bikes and I´m accustomed to have the screw almost entirely inside the body of the carb. hope somebody coul have a look to his own carb and tell me. antofagastaride antofagasta Chile

    Yamaha blaster carburation and so

hello! could somebody tell me how regulate de idle on a 92 blaster 200.? I could not find the screw and finally did that by adjusting the mixture and playing with a screw located on a "blac box" that goes on the top of the carburator were the throttle cables connects. but all of this is strange to me. Also could somebody tell me waht is the function of the microswitch that closes contact in that "black box" when the trhottle is way down close? regards Antofagastaride

    1974 Honda XL 175

there are chinese engines that are a copy of hondas of the late seventies, eighties and early nineties, 200 and 250 cc. They are sold by about 500 in Chile and supose you will get for far less in the US, they have electric start and cdi. I think that's the way to go.... try this www.imoto.cl

    yamaha blaster brake probs

I have a 93 blaster . You have to MAINTAIN it to keep it working fine. if the (cable operated) brake stucks it could be: it is to dirty, clean an lube it (you should dismantle it. ) worn pads: get new ones. You shoul pay attention to the auto adjusting ratchet, understand how it works to mount it properly. Good luck!

    Blaster question

If the diameter of the hose is small ( 1/8" or less)it looks to me that the injection hose running from the autolube pump located in the front right "corner" of the engine crancase got loose from the intake at the carb. If so STOP the engine and replace the hose in the nossle , or you will burn the engine.! It hapenned once to me in an old dt100 yammha 2 wheeler when running in the woods, some tree branch made it!
