  1. Hey DS, swapping the front sprocket is pretty easy...just remember to get the small plate that holds the shaft nut on....although I changed mine twice without replacing it. I ran a 15/50 setup and its great on the road but you really have to do some clutch work in the tight or hilly stuff. Don't know if the chain will fit with a 51 on back...have not tried that yet.
  2. I am considering the BRP Sub Mount Assembly so I can use a 1 1/8" ProTaper style bar and eventually get the Scotts unit too. Does this thing really work on OEM Triple Clamps? And if so how high does the bar now sit compared to stock. I love the stock setup for my size and have no problem so I am not really looking to change that but if this is an easy way to do it then I might. I have an '05 WR450. Thanks guys..any help is appreciated.
  3. My vote is to get the aftermarket can. You can get an fmf Q4 on ebay new for under $300. I have a modified stock pipe because I thought it was quieter than my buddies WB E2...did sound test and it turns out that mine was the same exact decibles as the E2...and his has better response and is snappy. We both have '05WR450's so its seems worth it for the improvement.
  4. I agree with William...replace the jet...I had the same problem...easier to just replace...wouldn't mess with cleaning a jet.
  5. Ok...thanks for the insight William...I have not bought used parts before so I appreciate the ideas.
  6. Hey William...less than $100...those do retail at $360...is it that old?
  7. Hey Fatbouy, I think what most of those comments refer to is the feeling that the bike is heavy. You can take a WR and lay it down and then take a KTM 450 and lay it down and you would swear that the KTM is lighter when it really isn't. Trade off....I like the way my WR rides waaaaaayyy better than the KTM...that bike felt squirrley on the trails.
  8. Found this on sale and cannot identify what year it is. The ad says its Ti but the pipe does not so I am not sure. It also looks like it has a leak in it. Any help identifying the year this was made would be appreciated. Also, how much do you think is a fair price for this? Its for a 2003-2005 WR 450. http://s480.photobucket.com/albums/rr164/maddog2k/ Thanks much!!!

  10. Hey Bama1, thanks for the info...I will try to mess with it next time. I am in Central California...Fresno Co. How about you?
  11. Any comments on what you think is the best exhaust for the WR? I am looking for a 96 db pipe and not sure which to look at. I have a 2005 WR450. Or more appropriate....which one not to get because its really not a 96 db pipe.
  12. Well Bama1 I am probably riding with too much air in the tires then....since I have to hit the street I try to keep like 16 psi in the tires but I am running the Maxxis Desert IT and have noticed its pretty stiff so I guess I could go a bit lower.
  13. cool...thx Simica...good idea.
  14. I ride to have fun and right now about the only thing I don't enjoy is cornering on hard flat or off camber turns. Usually there is no berm or anything to rail off of and the road is gravely. I ride next to faster riders and they just take the turn and pass me but it feels to me like the rear tire is going to give out and slide if I go faster. Someone mentioned leaning the bike while keeping my body straight up so the weight is pushing down on the side of the tire and helping it grip. Any thoughts on how to go faster on hard flat fireroads?
  15. I am trying to clean up my bars and want to know if anyone has a better kill/start switch setup. I think I have the stock setup with has a 1" square button(grey) for starting and the same button(red) for kill. Any ideas?
