  1. Hey guys, last time I was at the track my throttle stuck wide open after a jump. I was able to get it shut off & pushed it back to the truck. The throttle was frozen wide open like it was fused to the bars. I pulled off the throttle & the cables didnt move so I assumed it would be a broken return cable. Today I took the cables off & they are fine. I bought a new one since I thought for sure it was that & the current one feels identical to the new one. I tried to move the throtle wheel on the throttle shaft by hand & it is stuck. I should be able to move this by hand right? Has anyone run into this before & if so what did it turn out to be? Thanks for your help.

    2006 yz250f throttle stuck

Thanks for the responses. The throttle is stuck at the carb. I am looking at my manual & trying to move the throttle shaft drum like on page 4-17 (middle picture). There is space between where the throttle stop & the stopper on the wheel. When you say pop it back are you talking rotation (like force it to rotate back to the stop screw) or front to back? Would I be able to see the throttle wheel cracked with the carb on the bike (the crack on the inside of the carb facing away from me, it looks fine towards the outside of the bike)

  6. I just got my wife a modified CRF100 & the clutch pull is too hard for her. Does anyone know where to buy this setup or have one that they have for sale: Moose Easy Pull Clutch System #M55500~ 20513 I threw on a Moose CR85 perch & lever & that helped, but it's still a tough pull for her. Thanks, Chris

  9. Update on my wife's YZ250F:
  10. I have both an 06 YZ250F & YZ450F, the 250F feels a lot lighter in the turns & air. I can spin a lot more laps on the 250F than the 450F, it's just way easier to be smooth on because of the weight difference & power delivery. The 450F is way more of a thrill though! It's a tough choice for sure, good thing my wife can & likes to ride a 250F.

We used an electric cutting knife to make the big cuts and a sander to do the final shaping & to smooth it out.

    Beginner Bike for an Adult?

I had a 230F & liked it to learn on except that it is really heavy. Powerwise it was ok, but it was a workout to pick up off of the ground when i'd drop it.

    Extended fork legs

I had a set of the two bros extended legs on my 50 & they held up great.
  19. My wife started out on a 50 that she did not like much, but as soon as she started riding an xr70 she loved riding dirtbikes. She went from that to a CRF100 & now she is riding a YZ250F. I would recommend going with a XR/CRF70 or KLX110 for a new rider since it will give them the confidence of being able to touch the ground & be able to pick it up when they drop it. The four stroke 125/150 bikes (not the 150R) are all pretty heavy which would make them tough to pick up. Plus the KLX110 & CRF70 are semi auto so they can get used to riding without worrying about the clutch. Just some ideas.

    NEWYZ need greasing?

I agree, the 250F I just bought for my wife had almost no grease on these areas, same with my 450.
  22. Anybody running this setup on their 06 YZ250F? I just got one for my wife & want to run the Dr D kit but need to get a good radiator protection kit on there & I like the Devol setup on my 06 YZ450F. If not the Devol kit, what kit would work with the Dr D kit? Thanks, Chris
