  1. I paid $6600 for a nice one w/extras and 8K miles. I wanted it.
  2. Thanks for data, and yes.
  3. Good advice. I'll start looking. Then I can be waaaaaaay upsidedown in my 01. But it is mine.
  4. I want to install a WR 1st & 5th in my 2001 YZ250f. I can not find anyone who has actually done it (parts numbers, tips, etc). Even a call to a very polite but unhelpful Zy Ty racing went no where. My local dealer, a . . . . not so much. Anyone? Anyone? Anyone?
  5. Look at my other thread (within a page) {CDR on YZ250f}. Thats what I want to do. Have the flexability for extended dirt roads 45-60mph, and drop in a 12 tooth counter if the trail demands it. Thanks for response.
  6. From those of you whom have done it: How tall can I get away with on my 250f, 14/45? more? And what did you get, an unusable first? Too tall to pull 5th? Don't want to buy another motorcycle for one (long) adventure.
  7. Continental Divide Ride on a 2001-YZ250f, with a few caveats: Low time on the bike <70hrs total. I am org owner hurt at work , now healed and this is what I own; 4.2 gal, GPR, e-line 200w, lighting/license, side stand, rekluse, ZipTy carb mods, bar snake, aluminum body armor everywhere, FMF Q2, MotoPro off road spring& suspension set-up, hand guards, DID ‘O’ ring chain, fresh cam chain, short billet kick arm, and a ‘03’ cam. I’m looking for some knowledgeable advice (other than sell it) on the following technical questions: 1) Gearing; Currently I run a 13/49 for a ratio of 3.77:1 (my research comes up dry for SPECIFICS ie- actual experience, part numbers etc. . . . inserting WR 1st & 5th), I plan on swapping between countershaft sprockets. A 14/45 for the flats @ 3.21:1- and 12/45 for tighter sections giving a 3.75:1. 2) Rear Subframe; I do not plan on camping. I do plan on surviving. I will pack light, but sufficient. How durable is the aluminum subframe ref; weight bearing capacity? 3) Engine time; I have read and heard accounts of the Yamaha motor running well over 250hrs and/or 4000mls. Anyone with actual experience? 4) Tire Balls; will they hold up and alleviate the hassle of flats? 5) Where can I get a 19” 110 Mitas rear trails tire? I appreciate any and all constructive help in advance, thanks.
  8. I have an 01 YZ250f bought new and well cared for, < 70hrs total. (work injury cut into riding time significantly) She starts easily, runs great, and when I installed the 03 cam top end looked as new. I would like to see a full 200hr summer out of it this year. Why not?

  10. I have searched the posts. I can not find a definitive tab A slot B, part number X, Y, & Z. Can this has this been done, and what is the exact procedure? Please help. Thanks.
  11. Thank You very much.
  12. It seems as though all the lowering links are for 2002 and latter. What to do? The 01 stays.
  13. My 2001 ran perfectly with a fuel screw, stock jetting and White Bro's E. New law states 96db which encouraged my purchase of a FMF Q2. My trusty YZ now runs like crap in the mid range. Stars fine, top little changed, but she really struggles through the mid range. I searched previous post but none too specific. Also local wisdom advises strongly against JD kits on for strokes. Advice please.
  14. Thanks
  15. Thanks for your time.
