  1. Thank you for all the kind words and support my friends, it has not been easy.
  2. I hoped I would never have to make a post in this section of the site but I have lost my best friend in a motorcycle accident last night. His name was Rob and I knew him for 33 yrs. - from the 1st day of first grade. I taught him how to ride on my old YZ100 when we were kids and later in life he gravitated to the sport street bike scene. According to what his mother told me that the police told her - he was riding his bike (Kawasaki ZX9) at an unheard of rate of speed when a man in a truck pulled out of a side street and my buddy slammed straight into him. It was like hitting a brick wall and he died instantly. RIP Robert Doyle 12/28/71 - 6/23/10 I love you my brother and you will never be forgotten. http://www.newsday.com/long-island/suffolk/motorcyclist-killed-in-fort-salonga-crash-police-say-1.2049820
  3. Incredible! You are the man
  4. Just not quite as fantastic as the Husky though right?
  5. Many thanks for your replies, fellas. We'll keep an eye on it for a while.
  6. My father has an '09 Chevy Silverado 4x4 with the 5.3L engine. The first oil change was done at 500 miles and now at 2000 miles, it seems to have burned about an 1/8 of a quart of since the change. The oil is also almost black. Wondering if this the norm during it's break in period or there could be an issue? The manuals make no mention of this during break in. Thanks for any help or suggestions.
  7. 2005 KX250 - Just sold it a week ago. 2010 Husky on the way!
  8. Thanks. All said and done I got $3k for it but that includes the sale of my used boots and chest protector. I really can't complain, especially with today's economy and there being nowhere to legally ride around here. I'm looking forward to getting my 2010 Husky Dual Sport. I'll be able to get far more use out of it
  9. Yes, I got what I wanted for it. Very quick sale... I put it up on Saturday and it was gone on Monday night. My next bike will most likely be a Husky Dual Sport. There's really nowhere to ride (legally) off road within 4 hrs from where I live unless you race mx, which I don't. With a dual sport, at least I can take it out for a couple hours after work and hit the back roads and some legal, plated only, trails. Then on the weekends I can strip it down to real off road mode and trailer it to wherever.
  10. The bike has been sold to the first looker on Craigslist. It was hard saying goodbye.
  11. Those are some generous numbers you guys are stating. Unfortunately, where I'm from the market is small for dirtbikes. I did some searching to compare and posted it on craigslist for $3000. So far I had one guy who wanted to trade me a jetski + cash and 3 other bogus financial scam replies. I'm going to put it on ebay this week. I'd be happy with $3k but would drop it a bit further if someone was a serious buyer with cash in hand. I think that's more than fair for a bike that's practically brand new. Thanks for the replies
  12. Guys, I'm selling my bike and never had the chance to do the 4-Stroke shroud conversion. I have the machined bracket set and instructions. They're made to fit 2006-2008 KXF250 2pc. shrouds on a 2003-Current KX 250. If anyone is looking to do this conversion on their bike, pm me and you can have the brackets for what I paid for them.
  13. Hey fellas, I'm putting my 2005 KX 250 up for sale this weekend and looking for your opinions on how much I should ask for her. As you can see, she is near showroom mint and has 2 trail rides on it since new. The only parts that are not original & stock on it are a set of Renthals, a works connection glide plate, twin air filter and an n-style red full gripper seat cover. What do you think would be a fair price?
