    Backyard trials course

Has anyone designed and constructed a trials course or obstacles on their property? I've got an acre of land I'm working with and am looking for ideas... anything from mild to extreme would be great to see. Post some pics if you've got em! Thanks
  2. I hoped I would never have to make a post in this section of the site but I have lost my best friend in a motorcycle accident last night. His name was Rob and I knew him for 33 yrs. - from the 1st day of first grade. I taught him how to ride on my old YZ100 when we were kids and later in life he gravitated to the sport street bike scene. According to what his mother told me that the police told her - he was riding his bike (Kawasaki ZX9) at an unheard of rate of speed when a man in a truck pulled out of a side street and my buddy slammed straight into him. It was like hitting a brick wall and he died instantly. RIP Robert Doyle 12/28/71 - 6/23/10 I love you my brother and you will never be forgotten. http://www.newsday.com/long-island/suffolk/motorcyclist-killed-in-fort-salonga-crash-police-say-1.2049820

    My best friend is gone.

Thank you for all the kind words and support my friends, it has not been easy.
  4. Incredible! You are the man
  5. My father has an '09 Chevy Silverado 4x4 with the 5.3L engine. The first oil change was done at 500 miles and now at 2000 miles, it seems to have burned about an 1/8 of a quart of since the change. The oil is also almost black. Wondering if this the norm during it's break in period or there could be an issue? The manuals make no mention of this during break in. Thanks for any help or suggestions.
  6. Just not quite as fantastic as the Husky though right?

    Best Looking 2002-2005 bike contest!

2005 KX250 - Just sold it a week ago. 2010 Husky on the way!
  9. Hey fellas, I'm putting my 2005 KX 250 up for sale this weekend and looking for your opinions on how much I should ask for her. As you can see, she is near showroom mint and has 2 trail rides on it since new. The only parts that are not original & stock on it are a set of Renthals, a works connection glide plate, twin air filter and an n-style red full gripper seat cover. What do you think would be a fair price?

How much is it worth? MY KX250

Thanks. All said and done I got $3k for it but that includes the sale of my used boots and chest protector. I really can't complain, especially with today's economy and there being nowhere to legally ride around here. I'm looking forward to getting my 2010 Husky Dual Sport. I'll be able to get far more use out of it

How much is it worth? MY KX250

Yes, I got what I wanted for it. Very quick sale... I put it up on Saturday and it was gone on Monday night. My next bike will most likely be a Husky Dual Sport. There's really nowhere to ride (legally) off road within 4 hrs from where I live unless you race mx, which I don't. With a dual sport, at least I can take it out for a couple hours after work and hit the back roads and some legal, plated only, trails. Then on the weekends I can strip it down to real off road mode and trailer it to wherever.

The bike has been sold to the first looker on Craigslist. It was hard saying goodbye.

How much is it worth? MY KX250

Those are some generous numbers you guys are stating. Unfortunately, where I'm from the market is small for dirtbikes. I did some searching to compare and posted it on craigslist for $3000. So far I had one guy who wanted to trade me a jetski + cash and 3 other bogus financial scam replies. I'm going to put it on ebay this week. I'd be happy with $3k but would drop it a bit further if someone was a serious buyer with cash in hand. I think that's more than fair for a bike that's practically brand new. Thanks for the replies
  14. Guys, I'm selling my bike and never had the chance to do the 4-Stroke shroud conversion. I have the machined bracket set and instructions. They're made to fit 2006-2008 KXF250 2pc. shrouds on a 2003-Current KX 250. If anyone is looking to do this conversion on their bike, pm me and you can have the brackets for what I paid for them.

    Sponsored Rider needs help...K-5

I didn't know that - thanks for the info! Do you think that law is bike specific or does it apply to autos, marine and other assorted motorized gadgets?
  18. I'm looking at buying a Wrangler this coming week. Most likely a used 2005+ TJ with under 40k. A local dealer has several of them on the lot. I owned a 97 TJ, which I bought new in the summer of 96 when they first hit the showroom - it was the 4cyl / 5 speed and though it was a slug for the most part, I had for 7 years and put 120k on it with absolutely no problems at all. This next Jeep will definitely be a 6cyl but I am up in the air on if I should buy an automatic or a manual again. It will be a daily driver and also used to tow my bike with a light open trailer - Probably 600 - 700 lbs max towing weight, which isn't an issue at all. I plan on installing a 2" Pro Comp lift and 32" BFG's. So my question is on the transmission for the above usage - which would you suggest? Pros & Cons? Thanks!
  19. Wow, thanks for all the replies and tips guys. I've spent the whole weekend shopping and came up empty handed. I looked at and drove several Jeeps. I'm sold on the vehicle just not the prices. I've decided on a Rubicon or possibly an Unlimited with a stick. The problem is "most" dealers are absolute scam artists. They do nothing but lie about everything. Not just on the figures but on the history of the Jeep itself. Every one was of course "a one owner local trade in" till I investigated further and found they were out of state leases sold at auction or even worse and had an accident or two to it's credit. The search continues...

    A few updates

    Beautiful bike!
  22. A lot of people are complaining about the announcers - and rightly so, I couldn't agree more. The speed website also has some mixed up info in their supercross standings with NASCAR's Tony Stewart running a close 2nd behind Reed in points. Geeeeeez. http://moto-racing.speedtv.com/ama-supercross-motocross/standings/
