  1. Thanks for the help, but i figured it out. It wasn't pressed on but screwed on, and the problem was when i kept trying to unscrew the impellor the whole crank would move, so i unscrewed the pull start and put a runch on that side, then used a wrench on the impellor and together it worked I appreiciate the help, thanks.
  2. Hi, right now I'm just about finished buliding my mini bike, and today I just baught an engine. I baught an 6.5hp gas engine that came attatched with a water pump ( it was cheaper than just buying ther regular engine becuase it was a special purchase). I was wondering if anyone could help me with taking off the water pump? So far I have the housing off, and impellor cover in the housing off, but I just can't get the #@$$%^ impellor off of the engines crank. The impellor is one piece , not help on by bolts, but in the center of it allows a socket to fit on(big size). The impeller is either screwed into the hole in the crankshaft, or it's slipped on using the keyed shaft. Any body have any help, I'd greatly apprieciate it. Thanks - Andrew
  3. Your bike is so nice and clean. I want to do something like that to mine. Have a pic of it before? And how long did it take to restore and how much did you spend in the end?
  4. I live in surrey. ( No jokes please ) Don't mean to sound like a noob but what exactly does looping out mean? And how much did you pay for your bike? It seems a lot of bikes are a lot cheaper in the us even after currency exchange. The only 2003 I've seen for sale on the buy and sell was like 3899 and it was from that Richmond motorsports place. I'd like to buy from a real person and not a dealer , but there aren't any for sale
  5. Do you still have it?
  6. Btw, after getting this bike , I plan on maybe trying out a few motocross races this summer. Right now I have an '83 xl100 so I'll have to practise a lot to get use to a newer bike. I figure I'll have to learn how to corner properly and take jumps, because I basically can't do jumps on my bike now and I havn't tried corner fast on my bike, nor do I want to. What is this everyone says about the yamaha yzf front end wanting to jump out of the corner? Is this really a bad problem or can most people deal with it? Would I be better off with a bike that corners better for my first bike, or would it be fine to learn to corner on a yamah?
  7. What are the differences between an '03 250f and an '04? I was planning on buying an '03(still need a bit more money), but if there are any significant changes on the '04 than maybe I will save up a little bit more and get an '04. Some help would be great thanks - Andrew
  8. Who says you won't be able to hear your surroundings if you listen to music? Can you still hear other cars when you're driving with your radio on? Yes! Just because you listen to music with earphones doesn't mean you can't hear things around you.
  9. I was just wondeirng becuase I plan on buying a 2003 yz250f soon and was just wondering if it would feel much heavier or not. Thanks for the reply.
  10. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how much my 1983 xl100 weighs. I've looked all over the internet but there isn't much info on these bikes. Thanks - Andrew
  11. http://www.thumpertalk.com/forum/garage.php?do=viewattachment&attachmentid=12168 Maybe this summer if I have a lot of spare time I'll paint it, and put the turn signals and tail light back on.
  12. Couldnt find a proper place for my xl so i thought i'd post this here. I have a 1983 honda xl100 and i was wondering if it would be possible to buy some new suspension for my bike. What I have now bottoms out and really sucks. I know it's not the best bike, but it has a nice big comfortable seat and i thought it would be a great bike for put putting aroudn trails and stuff. any suggestions?
  13. Amen to that brotha!
  14. Honda xr400. Keep up on maintenance and it may last longer than you!
