  1. Happy Birthday!
  2. No problems with mine 04. It's been a solid bike for me. Other than general maintenance stuff (oil/oil filters/air filters, Fork/shock oil etc). I haven't had to replace anything other than tires/chain/sprockets since I bought it. I'm still on the original valves! They haven't moved a bit. Compression is still like new. I don't race, just ride Desert. The 04 was the last model (3rd year) of the 1st gen CRF450r. It also is slightly "bigger" than the later gen models. You could say it was the "best" version of the 1st generation CRF450r.
  3. Great post DMan. I was just looking around today for exactly that kind of stuff.
  4. I just bought a used, stock 2003 DRZ 125L for my youngest son. He is coming off a quad so this is is first bike, he's never ridden a bike (motorcycle) before. The bike is in like brand new shape, hardly ridden. But, boy does it take forever to warm up, then seems to me, to run kinda hot. My question is about jetting. I know, do a search. I've searched this forum about jetting, about accessing the capped fuel screw etc. But, Is there a "standard" set of jets that everyone agrees on that work best? We'll be riding Cailf. desert only. I found a "Joker Racing" jet kit on eBay for DRZ/KLX/TT 125's that include a 110 main, and 17.5 Pilot http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...DLVI%26ps%3D54 Any thoughts? good or bad? I want to keep the bike stock, "tame" and easy to ride for my son so he doesn't get scared off and want to go back to quads (man, I can't wait to sell those quads and get some of my Garage back). Thanks guys!

  6. Supercross

Boring, boring. I kept falling asleep. It was a glorified arena cross race. What's the point of that race, really?? It was just an annoying, ultra hyped energy drink commercial. Why doesn't CBS Sports cover the "Motocross of Nations". A real race, once a year, that means something. I would have loved to watch that!
  7. Ya , well.... on some things relating to riding I will defer sometimes..... On our first riding trip with my wife and our boys out at Ocotillo Wells years ago, some of the other moms took her on a little "girls" ride on quads. She had a great time. Second time out was a little longer and they got a little lost ( I was out on a ride with my buds so I didn't know she went out). They cut through the small side trails (trails for bikes not quads) to get back to the main wash. The trail got narrow, the quad tipped to the side and she put her foot down on the ground..........the back tire ran over her foot, pulled her off and flipped the quad over on her. She didn't get too hurt, just bumps and bruises and a sore ankle (I was amazed she didn't break it). So, she's been scared to ride ever since. On topics relating to riding, I give up the "castle" when needed.....occasionally . Sweet, that would do the trick!
  8. PBDBLUE, I'll defiantly check into toy Ins. Minibikedad, Man, sorry about the break-in's, that would hurt. The two closest RV storage facilities to me have 24 hour guards, surveillance cameras, Razor wire topped fences, etc. Limited access. http://rvstoragedepot.com/lake-forest.php This one is about 10 min, away from where I live. Some of my neighbors have RV's and boats there. http://www.eltororv.com/frames.htm This is about 20min away from where I live. The old El Toro Marine Air Base. Cheapest prices. Patrolled by Irvine Police 24/7. A few friends have there stuff there. Thanks again for your thoughts guys
  9. Steve, We live in a very safe neighborhood in south Orange county, Calif. with a strict association (yards, home colors, etc.) that doesn't allow RV, trailers etc. storage (plus my lot is not big enough). I have to notify them if I park a motorhome or boat overnight. It's a hassle, but it does keep the neighborhood looking very neat and kept up, so there's pro and cons. I do have a 3 car garage and my wife puts her car in, my truck stays out, and the bikes are over in the "3rd" car area, which works for me. But, I just know as soon as i get the trailer that's where the bike's will live. She just won't understand why we pay to store a empty trailer . Her head will explode . PBDBLUE, Thanks! I'll check them out
  10. Been looking into buying a enclosed trailer now. Reading recommendations here, a 7 X 14 seems to be big enough for my needs. Anyone have any thoughts on this company? http://www.trailersplus.com/ From what I've read on their site they are built by Interstate. I'll be loading the following bikes: Honda CRF450r Kawasaki KX100 Honda CRF150F KTM 65SX Pulling with a 05 Ford F150 Crew w/ 5.4 Also, what's everybody thoughts on leaving the bikes stored in the trailer at a RV storage facility?? The wife's been bugging to get some of the garage back . Thanks guys!
  11. Supercross

I'd love to here Marc Travers and Brian Koster & Ryan Gauld call the races. I miss watching the Canadian Motocross championship on Speed. Those guys make those races so fun to watch. I don't know who's racing, but it doesn't matter, they just make it a "race". I do like Bailey and Wiegant. I think they will get better as the season goes on. Both were a little stiff at Glenn Helen, a little more comfortable together at Hangtown. I'm just thankful we have the races to watch.
  12. Great trailer. Looks like a beautiful place to live. Dude, your avatar is mesmerizing.....
  13. If you are a "big" or "tall" guy, you'll like the 02/03/04 series better. I'm 6'8", I felt cramped on the 05,06... models. My 04 fits me great with a few "tall guy" mods" and still rips. Excellent bikes, all of them.
  14. Awesome Dogger! Can't wait to check it out. Will there be info for the Desert rider? Riding ends for me here in CA at the end of May. I know what I'll be doing for a summer project.
