I've been racing the OMA and those 450's are monsters. Even in the woods. I'd like to see to OMA split the pros the way GNCC does with a lite class. It's really not a fair fight.

Check for yourself. Here are the lap times. http://www.unitedoffroadracing.com/09results/oma_rd1_main_lap.pdf

Ruts, ruts and more ruts. 3 good sized mud bogs too. First lap times were high for the pros (50 minutes), then they trimmed it down to about 16 minutes per lap after that. You can hear those Geico Kawi's coming at you from a good distance, giving me plenty of time to move aside and let them pass. Not that Whibley or Jarrett needed it. They mowed down the trees in their way with ease. Whereas the trees were sending me to the ground nearly every lap.
  4. It was a Democratic congress that gave us this bill. Most of congress is the same as August. You should lay off the kool aid.

I was waiting on the line as this was going on, just cracking up.

Back from Vegas. I want to thank all the fans on behalf on Team Smage. It's been a fun year. We're not sure where Patrick finished in the Experts yet (13th to 15th), but Phillip finished a solid 10th for the entire series. We made five of the six main events. And in Ohio, both kids made the main event. Being a privateer team in this sport - and mainly being trials guys, we gave the big-boys a run for their money at a sport we didn't know anything about a couple of years ago. I'd also like to thank the promoters of EnduroCross for honoring me with their Spirit of EnduroCross award this weekend. This was a total shock to be interviewed by the legend, Jerry Bernardo, in front of a sold out crowd. Pat's very honored to be crowned the EXGC trialscross champ, after successfully defending his AMA trails championship this year. By the way, the kid just turned 18. Shameless plug: We're available for Trials Demo's this winter through-out the midwest, if your business is interested. Contact me at cgernhardt@comcast.net. We're a self-contained unit that can set-up in the smallest of areas. And, of course, we're always looking to sponsor any quality products for the 2009 AMA EnduroCross, AMA National Trials and OMA off-road season. We'll be competing in all three series, plus a few FIM World Trials in Europe with Patrick. Dang, I didn't know this was going to be so long. Once again, thanks to all the fans. Without you, there is no professional motor-racing. Peace, Craig Gernhardt

Bonds was my second pick but I choose Aaron Yates. Running and winning as a privateer on the Road Racing circuit is far more difficult than off-road. That being said, Aaron only got 17 votes. Probably 15 from his family members, one from Michael Jordan and mine.

    Team Smage will be there!

    Yes. It's free.

Mike, the starter man is fine. He's one tough dude. Colorado trials rider Dustin Headwall (#230) went down in the heats and broke his foot. Or so he told me on the stretcher. His mom and dad were both visibly nervous as the excellent medical crew hauled him to the ambulance. (Get well, Dustin) I always struggle on those big 8 foot tractor tires. And the sand. And the whoops. And the double jumps. And the water-pit. The track was insane for an old man like me. Why I'm even trying this stuff is one of those great human mysteries I've yet to uncover. (#102) My favorite moment. Phillip Smage (#551) winning the Dash-for-Cash on his Sherco! Man, what a race. That was me jumping up and down like a wild man on the last lap. I'd like to finish by tipping my helmet to Sara Schmidt at www.riderdown.org and #512, the vet female who competed. Sara and her crew are tremendous people.

I still don't feel your pain. You want cheap, ride a national trials. Endurocross gives so much product away as you sign up. Grab a case or two of Monster. Go over and get a massage from the Riderdown.org. therapist. Ride the go-cart track at Pole Position. You'll be more than even.
