  1. In Any Event, Can Anyone Tell Me How To Edit My Profile? I Don't Live In South Carolina.
  2. Once Again, Is The Bike Being Used For Strictly Off Road?! Top End Power Is Sacrifice For Being Able To Hook Up On The Low End. How Is A Head Pipe Restrictive? No Baffles! Am I Missing Something Here? I Have An 02 E, My Buddy Races A 03 S That Has The Same Mods. This Guy Swaps Out Forks, Tires, Wheels/sprockets To Race Motard One Weekend And Mx The Next; Races 'a' Class In My Area. You May Change The Curvature Of The Head Pipe, I.e. Straighten It Out Or Change Back Pressure Characteristics Of The Head Pipe, I.e. Power-bomb; But...opening Up The Muffler Is What Is Going To Give You Your Low End/mid Range Hp Increase. Opening Up The Muffler Increases Throttle Reponse, Increases Low To Mid Power Anywhere Usually From 2-5hp. Larger Rear Sprocket Or Smaller Front Sprocket Will Increase Wheel Spin Or Power To The Ground Increasing Low End Torque. Decreasing Rear Sprocket Or Increasing Front Sprocket Will Increase Top End Speed And Decrease Wheel Spin. More Low End For Dirt Is Preferred, Hence Mcgrath And The Others Using 54 And 55 Rear Sprockets.
  3. Sidi Flex Boot By Far! Beat The Tar Out Of These Things And All The Extra Plastic Sure Helps In The Woods. They Are Really Stiff And Take Quite A Bit To Break In. Motonation Is Also A Pretty Good Company To Work With. I Lost A Boot Strap From My Flex Boots And Expected To Order From Motonation For 15 To 20 Bucks, The Guy On The Phone Said "no Problem, I Have Tons Of These Things, I'll Send You Some". No Charge And He Sent Me A Whole Pack, Got Them In 3 Days. Same Experience With My Latest Pair, Lost Some Screws...they Sent Me A Whole Bag Full. Alps Are Good Boots But I've Heard Of People Having To Send Their Boots To The Company And Taking Several Weeks To Get Them Back With Charge For The Same Type Of Problem. $300 Well Spent.
  4. What Are You Doing With The Bike...strictly Off Road Or A Little Of Both? If You Intend For The Bike To Be An Off-road Machine Only You Don't Have To Blow The Whole Wadd On Exhaust And You Most Certainly Don't Have To Go Punching Holes In Your Airbox. Try The Fmf Power Core 4 Sa Slip On Muffler With The Recommended Main Jet And Go 14/52 On The Sprockets. This And This Alone Gets The Bike Pretty Darn Close To Yzf 400 Power. The Stock Pipe Is Sooo Restricted. I've Raced Them All Yzf400, Yzf450, Drz400e. Oh, Definitely Lose The Street Rubber For Off Road, Go To A Dunlop 739 Or 756 Rear.
  5. NOT TO SOUND STUPID, MAYBE I DO; BUT...WHAT DO YOU GUYS MEAN WHEN YOU SAY "ONE HEAVY SPRING AND ONE STOCK SPRING"? DO YOU MEAN LOADING ONE OF EACH IN EACH FORK TUBE OR STOCK ON ONE TUBE AND HEAVY IN THE OTHER? THE LATTER SEEMS IT WOULD DEFINETLY CAUSE FRONT END INSTABILITY. I'VE SEEN YOU GUYS PHRASE THIS MOD THIS WAY A LOT. I'VE HEARD SOME STRANGE THINGS IN THESE FORUMS AND ADVISE FROM SOME THAT MAKE ABSOLUTELY NO MECHANICAL SENSE, SO PLEASE IF YOU COULD CLARIFY IT WOULD BE HIGHLY EDUCATIONAL TO ME.
