  1. @ Ossidog - The last few times in the past few years I went riding out to MC and I agree with you. The trails all seemed really nice, had really good flow, and never had a hassle. @dp400 - I'm glad to hear that I am not the only one the struggled recently in that section. No matter what I did rather make multiple attempts at riding it out I couldn't. I had to pull, drag, straddle, clutch and walk my bike like no other to get threw there... @ Cavemike - It sounds like you don't really struggle threw there because you are one bad Caveman! lol... I have no idea how you could pass anyone in that narley section now with it being so rutted and the "easy" line is the only line. @AngryShawn - which way are you talking about starting from? The lakeport side? I used to ride it both ways minus the creek to hill climb where 25 starts out by 23. That hill has always been a 50-50. half the time ill make the pull up and half the time I struggle. If any of you go out there and go ride it, keep me posted. I called the Ukiah office and they said that its the next on the agenda to "patch" or reroute. They said they have had a few comments about it....
  2. Went out to Cow Mountain today for the first time in 2+ years. I had one of the best rides in quite some time. There were just a few people out there and I didn't run into anyone on the trails. My loop was from Lakeport side to 17 to 24 to 6 to 3 down the road to 11 to 19 (never rode it before but it's my new favorite trail. Reminds me of an trail 24 some time ago) to 20 to the horse trough. To finish the day I figured i would drop down Benmore (23) and take it 25 around and up to the main road. From the Benmore Bridge to the steep climb up it seemed like it was better but where I thought it would get better the trail seemed like it was way rutted out where it used to be really nice. So I continued down the rutted and shale trail 23 turned right to jump on 25. Boy was I in for a surprise. From where 25 goes deep in to Scott's creek down to the Lp side to the creek crossing on 25 was a mess ! I couldn't believe the ruts, erosion, and everything else that the trail has endured. My dad used to ride his quad with me on these trails all the time and it was like our favorite loop. So I then crossed the creek and started the climb out 25 and I made it about half way before I came to a halt with a big rut on one side and shale on the other. I kept making attempts walking etc. until my bike started to over heat. I shut her off let her cool and thought about which way I should pick to get outta the mess while in the middle of the hill. I decided to turn around and take the rutted up mess. I managed to make it up that side after a lot of clutches and straddling the ruts. Even with a new front and rear tire it was a mess! Was the trail just kicking my butt or does anyone else struggle through those parts? I don't even know how they could call that a dual track trail for quads and 4x4s with how nasty the single track was now a days. I am glad my Dad wasn't on his quad because that coulda been real nasty. Please let me know what you guys think of it !

Glad your clearing some trails. I bring my chainsaw when ever I ride in the winter.Thought I was the only one until I met a guy from fort bragg with a chainsaw mounted on his front forks.
