  1. I did take the plug out this morning (day after riding) its black around outer ring tan on the strap and porcilen is off white.I think it looks pretty good. The bike sure seems to radiate alot of heet from the motor I will asume thats normal with stock pipe and all.I guess I will lean it acording to Indy,s chart when the temps stay steady above 75. Any thoughts?
  2. I also rode a couple yz 250s and noticed my wr 450 puts off alot more heat on your legs. The yz250 owners comented on it to
  3. I just got done riding tonight and noticed the pipe comming out of the silencer is white inside. the bike has free mods air pump removed JD jet kit air box cut.and is jetted to Indys specks for low altitude and 60 to 75 degrees. It got prety warm today about 85 degrees.Being jetted for colder weather should make the bike rich right? Is the white pipe normal? The bike ran great but hot start not as good as usual but not to bad. Any thought on the white pipe. Iam running a mix of cam 2 110 and 91 pump gas . Thanks. Dan
  4. Yes Im sure it was at TDC the other two intake valves had more than .004
  5. I bought a new leftover 05 WR. I broke the motor in changed the oil and then went on a 30 mile ride very easy one (with daughter on her new quad) after a few days in the garage with the heat off about 30 ish degrees I flipped on the heat and checked the valves. I found that the intake valve on the left side of the motor(cam gear side) is a little tight.I could not get A .004 feeler Gage in but could a combination of .002 and .0015 . should I worry about it or not? Do you think the motor being 30 degrees has any thing do with it? do you think at 75 degrees it might have enough clearance.I put it back together and thought I would just check it again after a few more rides. Or should I reshim it now?
  6. Thanks for the replies I haven't rode it yet but did do all the free mods AIS removal and a JD jet kit. Santa bringing myself and daughter new scooters for Xmas. Its killin me not to take the new WR out and thrash it.But 8" of snow just melted and its very muddy.
  7. I just bought a new 05 wr 450 USA model. All I got was a owners/service manual for a WR450FS. Which I believe FS is for a 2004. Should I have gotten a tool kit, spark plug wrench? Should the manual for a 2005 Have WR450FT on the front? Thanks in advace What a great website!
