    Try a 165 hp banshee, you can beat that with anything lol. 70 hp? BIG DEAL. And no even if you dump 20k into a bike you still couldnt beat a banshee with 150+ hp, you know why? the bike will never have enough control to use any more power than 60-70 hp. but this is off topic!

    With the engine mods I have I can keep up to my friends 2004 YZ450F until we both hit 5th. He beats me by about a quad length which is quite respectable. With the chassis and suspension mods I eat him on the track. But then again, hes not big into the MX scene. Overall 450F will beat YFZ450 stock for stock no problem but when you start getting equal horsepower out of both the results are quite suprising, sometimes i wonder there that extra 140 lbs go. As for 250F beating YFZ450... give me a break. Not with equal riders.

  4. Hey, I just cleaned up my XR100 from a long while of being garaged. I have tried for several days to get it to start and idle without applying the throttle. If I kickstart it with the throttle open it will start and it seems to rev fine when im playing with the gas but as soon as i let go of it the engine just dies. I have tried playing with the idle adjuster but no luck. Someone help me outtt please.
  5. one question about the motor, does the KXF still LACK top end power? If you were to drag race the two (which i know they are not meant for) which bike would pull the other?
  6. Wow thanks guys you guys are awesoommmmmee.. So I'm going to try not to kill myself trying to decide on these two bikes, it seems that they are both very similar. Personally, I am more of a short shifter kind of guys cuz thats the kind of powerband that I have been riding for a long time. In that case the KXF will probably be advatageous. Also I am only 5'10'' 140 lbs, and I heard the KXF suspension is much plusher and better suited for lightweights like me. Again advantage KXF. The only thing holding me back is reliability, I have heard some claims that the KXF's are having some motor reliability issues and would hate to have that happen to me. Really I'm pretty torn between these two bikes.
  7. thanks guys that helps out a lot. I also agree that in many cases, people lie about broken parts or motors so it gives that company a bad name. I have seen it happen a lot with quads, which I am on now. I have a yfz450 decked with suspension and everything but still craving a bike!! woohoo
  8. Hey therrrre, I plan on getting an 06 this spring but im torn between these two bikes. I hear good things and bad things from both. The Kawi I heard are having some motor problems and they are locking up. Can anyone back me up on this or tell me why? Thats really the only thing holding me back from it. The YZ I heard has a solid motor but lacks low end, the seat height is higher and the front end pushes when it is stock. For the good the YZ has a pretty reliable motor and good suspension. However, the KXF has an catastrophic motor but has better suspension for lighter kids like me around 140 lbs mark. Can anyone help meee ouuuutttt...
