    Changed head gasket, lost spark

Yes, I am referring to valve timing by re-setting the cam chain. The motor came out and got placed on my workbench. To my knowledge, it didn't get bumped around at all and definitely not dropped. I'll try touching my multimeter to the spark plug and ground - I'm assuming I'm just checking for continuity? Thanks for the tips!

    Changed head gasket, lost spark

Had a leaky head gasket on my 2005 TTR 125 with BBR 150 big bore. I took the motor out, replaced the gasket, re-set the timing, and put it all back together. Now I have no spark. I have cleaned all the connections, added dielectric grease, ensured good ground contact, and put in a new spark plug. Now I'm at a total loss. If I re-set the timing incorrectly, that wouldn't cause me to lose spark would it? Other possible causes?

Lost Dog - Please pass along....

Amazing Christmas miracle!!!!! So glad to hear the good news! Waiting to hear about the reunion.
  4. Bought a cheap brand new chinese made xr200 knockoff carb off eBay and put it on my wife's ttr150. Bike starts GREAT with no choke but I know it's jetted too rich - can't get it to start when it's hot. Anyone know a good online source for jets? I want to go down a couple sizes on the pilot jet and maybe the main. The carb is exactly like the one in this eBay listing. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Carb-Carburetor-Honda-XR-200-R-XR200R-200R-NEW-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem5adc87ed46QQitemZ390246952262QQptZMotorcyclesQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

    CRF150F carb on TTR150

I've been watching VM24's at $99 because I wasn't sure if a "Mikuni 24mm" was the same - there are many of those listed at $25-30. At that price, I'll just try one and throw it away if I don't like it!

    CRF150F carb on TTR150

Sounds good, thanks for the advice. Can I go with this VM26 and install it with no other mods? Or would I need a carb adapter, new cables, etc? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mikuni-VM26-606-Round-Slide-Carburetor-26mm-Carb-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem2308ecbd75QQitemZ150473588085QQptZMotorcyclesQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories Otherwise, it's an XR200 carb right?

    CRF150F carb on TTR150

I've read through all the threads and solicited advice. It seems that for my big bore TTR125 that one of the better options is a CRF150f carb but also requires new throttle assembly, cable, and a carb adapter from BBR to fit onto the TTR. All this is going to cost me around $100. I know this is probably a Chinese made knockoff, but is this the carb I need? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190417340538&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT I could just get a knockoff Mikuni VM24 that will bolt right up to the bike for $100. Is that a better option considering the bike is my wife's and my main concern is just consistent starting.

Thanks guys. I've been reading posts for 2 days about which are the best carb options for BBK (I've seen countless replies from you guys!). Since the bike is my wife's and I can outrun her on my 2 year old's tricycle, I'm thinking I better stick with the option that retains the best bottom end. Sounds like that's the CRF150 carb? I've found the cheap knockoffs on eBay and once I add a throttle assembly, cable, and BBR carb adapter, I'm back to $100. For the same $100, would you go with the Mikuni VM24 that will bolt right up or the CRF150 stuff?

New plan - After a bit more research, maybe I ought to get a VM26 since I have a BBR 150 BB kit. Anyone have success with a VM26 and a 150 BB?
  10. Morningstar Lake campgrounds is just 2 miles up from the Foresthill OHV trails. Always tons of dirt bikers camping there. http://morningstar.icyspicy.com/

The eBay seller who sells the cheap VM24 has been out of stock for over 2 months and I can't get a straight answer out of them as to when they will have more. Now that I had my mind made up that I could get one for $69.99, I don't really want to spend $100 on one.... Does anyone know of a different source to get a new VM24 for around $70?

value of complete engine ttr 150.

I've shipped several motors in large plastic ice chests. You can get one for about $30-40 that will work perfect. Shipping is going to be expensive too so make sure you get a shipping quote from your chosen carrier so you don't set shipping price too low.

    KDub is in for Milsaps!

kdub is the man! I'm sure he'll have to race himself into shape, but I bet he runs near the front of the pack for the first half of each moto though. Hopefully he has been keeping in shape and won't fade, but at least it will be great to root for him!

    Podium-Reed-Regal

I'm an avid Reed hater and I have to admit that was a pretty cool move. It did sorta look like Regal was thinking "why the F is someone messing with me during my podium interview?!"

    sell it or keep it?????

I am convinced I need 2 bikes. That way if one is ever down for repairs, I can still ride!
