Motorbikes, umm, yeh, the first one..
  1. Yep, dam CDI decided it wanted to suddenly go faulty! oh well all good now =] cheers mate
  2. it was running fine before it was drowned but the engine was recently rebuilt, and i know what grabbing cam's do, my 2006 KXF250 grabbed one of its cam's and twisted it something chronic.. and also cost me in excess of $2000 to fix... Im swapping CDI's with another bloke this weekend hopefully i have some success. just going out and buying a new cdi, coil pack and stator and having it all not work doesnt sound fun to me...
  3. Yeh i finally found another 04 rmz in darwin where i live im going around his place on saturday to swap coils and CDI's see if i can find the prob...
  4. oh reli? hmm does it just randomly happen or is it triggered, caus its worked fine for the last 4 years?
  5. I have this post in the suzuki forum to but been the same bikes and how stuck i am double the poinions cant hurt! please help Hey all, Iv never posted on this forum before as iv only owned kawi's and now a CRF250 but i just brough my gf's brother bike off him cheap as he is moving, BUT... He had not tried to start it since he left it at a mates house for a month as his knee is stuffed and wont allow him to even try. I went around there and tried and straight away i noticed it had no compression.. so i took it home n started the diagnosis... turns out the bike has been ridden by someone else when he left it at his mates house, and they had drowned the bike, so the carby, engine, cyclinder header pipe everything has corrosion in it... I pulled everything down and found the rings has stuck themselves inside the piston, the inlet valves were not sealing due to sh#t under the seats, so new rings, a re-hoan, cleaned the seats and checked for sealing on all 4 valves, all ok, put it all back together, nothing... so out the carby came sure enough the water sitting it it had made a soup and clogged every jet and hole... cleaned that and re-assembled, nothing... re-checked the timing and valve clearences, all fine... still nothing then checked the spark, constant and clean, picks up from half a inch away without issue... replaced the spark plug still nothing but now it fires every single kick just still wont start, nor bump start. seems to only fire in low RPM. like kicking or just before u run out of momentum in a bump start. Checked all connections throughout the bike, disconnected the killswitch. stillll nothing... Has enough compression to allow it to start. Also checked flywheel to TDC timing is also ok. I know there are previous threads simala but mines reli becoming annoying and im out of ideas... I am a mechanic by trade and this is getting to me.. Only ideas i have left is to swap stator and coil with someone else to try that but i dont know anyone else with a 04-05 that uses a external coil rather then plug cap and coil combined.. Please anyone ideas would be great... thanks for any input!

  7. For soft millville is good, give it 1km of hard pack, and say goodbye to all your knobs...
  8. Well it depends on what sort of project bike you would like, do you want it to last forever or to tear apart the competition? If tearing the competition is the option, then im gana say flo-port the entire head, smooth it up aswell, hi-comp piston, will need stronger valves and springs to suit the higer compression and the better flo-ing head, a new stronger con-rod of your choice might be a option aswell?? An aftermarket system? Procircuit, bills etc, i find the bills seem to be the best system for the hondas. Then after all thats done, jet it to run crisp in all the rev ranges, no point doin all that work and having a bike that boggs like a bitch. After market ignition? Vortex? Thats probably all ya would want to do to a engine that small, unless ya want to bore it out, but i would rather keep it stock if i was in your position.. Then you come to accessories, first of all protective gear, radiator guards? Hand guards, but not bark busters, as they arnt allowed in motocross (well not here in australia anyway..), umm, bash/skit plate? etc, i could go on for hours.. First thing in accessories would be a new triple trees and good quality Fatbars, i find TAG have last some good crashes of mine, such as the one last sunday, which put me in hospital with a broken leg.. Then i sappose do u want things like braided brake lines as mentioned before, i find my CRF has awsome stopping power anyway, but its always a option? And last of all looks, rims, graphics? (been a thumper talk bike get a tumper talk graphics kit made up) How does red rims, red hubs, black spoke nipples, and silver spokes sound? Many options, any more ideas people? I leave such big post due to been stuck in bed with a broken leg.. My CRF250 decided to throw my off last sunday, so im cast-ed for the next 6-8 weeks.. i think im gana be on here alot haha! ok laterz
  9. my front rim has some freaky angles goin on... its now living in the depressed memory box lol... carnt afford to do anything about it atm..
  10. i ride all year round... cold hands dont worry me, after a certain point of been so cold it hurts, they go numb... lol
  11. lol.. why tho? and yes you can.
  12. head gasket may not be torqued down hard enough, or ur impella seals have decided to shit.. but on the crfs isnt that on the gearbox oil section?
  13. Kawasaki here keep blaming the riders for the grenading of the 2006 KX250F's. Dales blew, "needa rebuild at 15hrs" Pats blew "needa rebuild at 12hrs" mine blew "needa rebuild at 10hrs" cams blew "needa rebuild at 8hrs" Jasons blew, "no comment"... None lasted past 30hrs, mine was the longest, 29.8hrs. Cmon Kawasaki just admit they are a dud... funi thing, mate somehow scored a 2007 head, 90hrs not one problem, but Kawasaki decided they would leave their poor-er riders out in the dark with a dead brand new bike.. go figure.. My repair bill, $1900.. I know of 29 06 kxfs that have blown, 20 of them were a pros practice bikes. the other nine were normal everyday people.. Hence the nice shiny 05 CRF in my shed. yet no matter how many riders appeal and plea to kawy, "theres nuffn wrong with them"
  14. Mine are lasting 20-30hrs, and my engine never gets revved hardly, it was flo-ported purely for shit loads of torque, i run a high gear everywhere, smoother and the bike holds it better. pretty much the only time i bounce is over studders, and panic revs etc etc. But im not saying ur fulla shit because ur dead right there, when i got my first 4 stroke (2006 KX250F) i rode it like my KX125, and that had been made a top end engine, so clutch and hold it flat, change when it stops pulln.. lol And sure enough i was condemed by the local pro, he MADE me stop riding it like that. And that bike did eventually blow at 30hrs, but for other reasons. Reasons such as it been green...
  15. Tru that! When comes time to re-work my seats, im going to have it done propally, and have the guides everything inspected, i cannot afford to blow it up, has 2 grand worth of flo-porting done to it... Keep on top of the small things like oil, air filter (VERY MUCH SO!), oil filter, clearences, because the longer the valve extends, the harder it hits the seat apon returning... And valve saver is always a good idea. the little picky things is what makes you engine go the extra mile, or 100...
