    2013 gearing changes

    Well I'm on my trip down south (from michigan) and finally gettin to ride my new 13... I love the bike. My only concern with the bike is that it revs out quicker than my 12 did, I find that the power really drops off on the top end. I find myself having to grab 5th alot to keep from overreving in 4th and not to toot my own horn but that's hauling already. Seemed like the 12 had a little bit more to offer on the top end and thinking I should drop a couple teeth in the back. Anyone else feel this way and what kind of gearing is everyone satisfied with? Also the bike is stock, 4 hours on it and counting and of course I forgot my changeable couplers at home. Thanks

    Ontario Wallaceburg, Ontario indoor track

    The last couple years I've been riding an indoor track just on the other side of the border in Wallaceburg Ontario, I'm In southeast michigan and you just take the Algonac ferry across. Anyway I've been trying to get in contact with them and I haven't had any luck. Anyone know a new phone number or if they are still open?

    New 2013 smoke and smell

    Thanks, just wondering about the whole thing, I had a 12 and didn't experience this but I don't think my 13 was ever started before I got it home... My elevation in my hometown, just outside of detroit, Mi is 578ft. I plan on doing 2 heat cycles then changing the oil, hitting an indoor track in Ohio. I have plans to go to Texas after Xmas for a week to really get to ride it

    And definitely make sure to grease everything, just went through mine last night and everything was bone dry, not one lick or grease on the axle bearings or linkage

    So I picked up my 2013 Thursday and brought it home... When I have it running it is smoking out of the exhaust when I twist the throttle, but it doesn't smell like engine oil. It's a weird smell, almost like plastic or Wd40 burning. Anyone else had this? Maybe just some sort of assembly lubricants..or oily exhaust....muffler packing? Any ideas

    Speaking of bike prep, I just picked my 13 up the other day, and whoever put my air filter on is an idiot. There is grease EVERYWHERE! It's on the backfire screen, all over the airbox, on the air filter cage... What a mess

    Thanks, I was talking about air filters, I think you were thinking oil filter but that's good to know too! I have a bunch of twin air air filters and I wasn't going to give them away if they fit

    13 KX250F OTD Pricing

    I just got a price yesterday at my dealer in michigan, 7012.31 OTD for a 13, and they're taking my 12 for 4500. It's a loss but I haven't even had one person interested in the 2 months I've been trying to sell it. Nothing like a new bike

    2012 KX250F Locked Up today :(

    It very well could have been heat, it was 90 degrees that day and I was doing 20 mins Motos. I had 40 minutes in between so the bike had a chance to cool down. Also I still had all the coolant in the radiator so it wasn't boiling over at all. But like I said, there were no other signs of overheating but it could be a possibility

    haha yeah if i didnt put a bunch of money into it! but i got cost on the parts, retail= $708 ( something like that, above 700 for that matter), i paid = $431... and as far as teardown, rebuild and fixing everything i paid 400 which was very cheap considering all the tedious cleaning and correction to the ports and head... i plan on riding it for a little while but some sort of 2013 bike is in my near future, whether it be a 250f or 450

    I also did put in new valves, springs, seals, buckets, top end, and cam chain. Also the head had to be massaged and new seats cut
