    Valve related question?

Thanks for the reply, I wasn't going to ride with the tight valve. I was going to shim it and ride. I just thought that since this will be my second shimming in 2 months it might be ready to fly apart even after I shimmed it.
  2. Hey guys, I shimmed my valves about 2 months(2006 kx250f, wouldn't start the left intake valve was extremely tight) Well I went riding this past Wednesday and everything was fine. I came home parked the bike in the building and went out this evening and done an oil change and cleaned the air filter for a race today. I went to start it up and nothing, kicked my guts out LOL. I first checked and made sure I had spark and it did, then checked the fuel passages and fine there too, it had me stumped. Then I thought, I'll check the valves again for the heck of it, well........ you guessed it!!!! the same left intake valve is tight again, all others are fine. I haven't shimmed it yet because I want to get a little sleep LOL. I was just wondering if it would be alright to race my bike today or is catastrophic failure close. I know there is a problem with the valve and it's going to get Kibbles this winter but was just wondering if it would be safe to run or not. Thanks Rob

What makes a jump a catapult jump?

I believe that it is a single jump before a table top

I guess I posted the video wrong? I guess you have to paste the url in the address bar. Let me know.
  7. Hey guys, I was out practicing some turns and working on my baby whips LOL. The first 2 turns on the video were like the best and then quit trying LOL but let me know what ya think. The whips really suck I know but just starting to get that wormy twisty feeling down. I know they will come in time. I have another video of my race Sat. night that I finished first in (just D class though) but I guess ya gotta start somewhere. I'll post it up too and give me some feedback on it. 8. Hey guys, I've got a ? I did a search on this and couldn't really find what I was looking for. I'm a mid pack C rider on a kx250f and was wanting to start learning how to scrub some speed without laying it over and touching the handlebars on the jump face like Bubba LOL. I ran onto this article by Mike Larocco and he talks about the pros running wide open to the jump and dragging the brake off the jump to go lower. It just doesn't make sense to me yet. 1) Everyone knows what happens when you brake off of a jump. 2) Are they cutting the throttle completely at the bottom of the face and dragging the brake up the face of the jump or 3) staying wide open all the way and dragging the brake too. The article was unclear on the process and I was just wondering if anyone does this. I understand the process of how it works, I just don't see how you keep it from endoing. Here is the article: http://www.transworldmotocross.com/mx/how_to/article/0,13190,343908,00.html If anyone could shed some light on this, I sure would appreciate it. Thanks Rob
  9. Hello guys, They just announced at our race a few hours ago that Chris Earlywine has passed away. They said that he died of a massive heart attack at 39 years of age. I really hate to hear this, they are as good of people that you could ever meet. My thoughts and prayers to the whole earlywine family. R.I.P Chris. I thought maybe everyone would want to know, i'm sure that there are people on here who have rode at his indoor track in Maysville, Kentucky. Rob

ya Know what's funny wit? It's 3:00 A.M. here and I just walked back in the house from looking at my bike for about 15 minutes and I just convinced myself of the same thing LMAO. I'm gonna run it!!!! I've got another question for ya though? It says it has a tunable endcap. How do you tune it? When you take the red piece out of the end it has the spark arrestor screen on it, or is that what they mean by tunable......spark arrestor in or spark arrestor out? Rob

thanks for the reply yama, it's not touching the plastic but it is real close. I guess they mount this way. what looks so odd is how it sticks up above my fender, it's like the bend is to sharp........ I hate to get rid of it because I can tell a difference in the upper range and it sounds mean as hell. What would you guys do? Rob

I'm thinking the same thing too Eddie. I called rockymountainatv/mc and made sure they sent me the right one and they said that it was. There's only one way to bolt it on. I need to talk to the guy on here from white brothers and see what he thinks but I don't remember his name. I don't know anyone who has one of these silencers to talk to so...... I called my friend and told him about and I took it out to him and he said it didn't look that bad LOL. anyhow, if someone else sees this and knows if it should or should'nt look like this please let me know. Yeah, I love the way that it sounds and did make an improvement in the power delivery but man it is a BIG SILENCER LOL. I guess i'm gonna have to get used to it. When I got it mounted up I thought, man, this can't be right LOL. It sticks outside of the fender and comes up above the fender a little bit. I'll take some pictures in a few minutes and post on here. I think maybe the reason it sticks up and out so far is because of the big cannon hole in the end. I'm guessing that it probably would seriously melt the plastic. I'm not knocking the silencer, I think it is excellent, it's just really long. Rob
