  1. owned a 1996 620 RXC for a short time. This bike had tons of engine vibration and parts were expensive:banghead:. I ended up selling and going back to japanese stuff. Wasn't very impressed with the KTM LC4. People do love that engine.........very old school technology:bonk:.

  3. I stopped at the dealer for some parts and the parts guy was saying the same things reguarding the cranks with the 09/10 250 crfs. His Friend's failed aswell, not from a lack of maint. either, Since his buddy races hare scrambles and keeps his stuff up to snuff. He said to stay away from the red bikes! Note: This dealer sells all four brands there.
  4. I raced my 2000 yz426 in a hare scramble last year. It's a heavier bike for sure ,handles a little slower too. It has been very reliable........I'm the original owner. I geared down by adding 3 teeth on the rear spocket for offroad. This worked very well, a skid plate is a must too. The biggest improvement you can do is to dial the jetting in........easier starting, better throttle response. If you ride a friends newer machine........you will want to sell it.......trust me on that. Other then that , Ride the blue bike and enjoy it. I still have mine.
  5. I don't see a problem by removing it either, (stock or aftermarket system). This thing only opens during an idle condition to inject fresh air into the exhaust after combustion.....outside the cylinder. Mainly to pass smog testing. Removing the A.I.S. won't make your bike polute less.....................just fool the Smog testing equipment (at Idle) to make it look cleaner to the meter by diluting the exhaust gas with fresh air. I removed mine to eliminate weight and noticed no increase in power. I do like to show off my handmade block-off plate to motorcycle friends and BS-Em into thinking I added like 5 HP with this Mod.
