XR 100 vibration at higher rpm

yeah, it makes the same noise either riding or on a stand. heavy vibrations thru the swingarm.

XR 100 vibration at higher rpm

upon further investigation, the sound seems like it is coming from the back of the swingarm where it connects to the rear tire. I believe it is coming from up toward where the swingarm connects near the motorbut could not be positive. Held screwdriver to all ares of motor and it sounded normal. Any ideas.......anyone???

XR 100 vibration at higher rpm

Just checked every nut and bolt on the bike and everything is tight. Pulled the valve cover and valve adjustment is within spec. Timing chain looks good and is tight. Also pulled side cover and flywheel bolt is tight. Any suggestions??
  8. I have a 1997 XR 100. It runs great, but riding this weekend, my wife noticed a bad vibration. It starts about half way up the rpm band. Would anyone have any suggestions of where to start looking or checking. All motor mounts are tight. Maybe flywheel, cam chain, etc??? Thanks in advance for any help.

Looking for places to ride in Oklahoma

wow, some good info here, thanks. looks like the stillwater place is similar to what I ride here in colorado...only a lot of long uphill and downhill sections here. We rode sunday and today and did 165 miles and didnt hit the same trail twice. did get caught in some snow though. $25 seems pretty steep for me for a day of riding. we ride national forest here and I have never paid to ride anywhere. Is the lake draper area similar to stillwater? I also talked to my father in law and he said that there is someplace near Midwest city (near OKC) along a river that he sees bikes at all the time. He said it was not a track...anyone know what that is? Thanks all and maybe I can get one or 2 of you to ride with me around t giving if we are all not too fat from the turkey!
  11. Hey Everyone, I am coming to Oklahoma City for the week of Thanksgiving. My wife is from there, but I have never ridden there. I am looking for some people to ride with who know the local areas. I would prefer within an hour or so of the city. I ride the woods in Colorado. No track riding for me. I would love to do some riding there if I can find someplace or someone to ride with. I dont care if it is woods or open ditches. I am an intermediate rider. Hope to hear from some of you.

    Fork oil level

Hi, I am new to the forum, yet not new to riding. I have a 04 250X and am at the stock set up as far as fork and shock springs are concerned. I have my compression dampening on the forks as soft as it can go, yet I would like it a touch softer. Is this something I can accomplish with fork oil level? I appreciate any input. I weigh approx. 140 with gear on and typically ride woods with some whoops mixed in on the faster sections. Thanks in advance!
