  1. Wanted for vmx racing , going to be outclassed in pre85 class but dont want the same bike as everyone else ( cr250 re ) . Thinking of swapping for my 89 rm125. I guess the main thing i want to know is if power is up to the level as i can upgrade front brake etc.
  2. Hey , seems i may be able to get a 81' 250 but, i can't find anything much about these early kx's . Can anyone tell me if they were ok or lemons ? I know parts is a major issue but i'm pretty savy to custom fab etc. Just want to know if its a good starting point , cheers steve
  3. Here's my vmx dr307 special..
  4. How do i delete this post cause i've got the same one below with pics.?
  5. Thanks Allen , its funny telling people i race a dr250
  6. Been thinkin about that , or maybe black metal ones like 84 cr500...
  7. Thats an 89 - 92ish rm guard from ufo
  8. I smile every time i ride it. Raced it recently and surprised myself and embarrassed some big dollar big bores.
  9. Few hours spent on this one , wrote a small list of stuff in the vintage forum under " bet you'll never see one like this"
  10. List of mods so far goes - 89' cr125 forks .46 springs ,kx clamps , 83 rm250 shock with shortened wr400 shaft, seal head and valving , modified linkages , 82' rm125 tank sits over twin oil coolers , 89rm rear assy , engine sleeved to 307cc with 12.5 comp , 37 mm fcr carb and custom ex system . Goes and jumps really well but could use more power as still has stock valves and cam ! If anyone has any pull with web camshafts i'd love some help as i can't seem to get in contact with them from down under !?
  11. Having trouble finding good crank webs for 89' cr125 and am wondering if anyone has fitted a 90' model crank as these are available oem and non gen . Different part numbers yet same mains and rod..?? Cheers steve in oz
  12. Yea its a mid 80's dr250 , spent a few hours in the shed lately ! Steve in oz

  14. Good backyard way to test spark is to man-up and hold on to the plug cap. If it hurts , its good !
